because their fans are english?

because english football will benefit from it

i think clubs should have to have a minimum of, say 5 english players in their starting lineup within 5 years, but its still not a bad thing for an english club to win it

What difference would having English players make? When you decide which player to buy/play do you look at Bob and Bjarni and decide that , although Bjarni is the better player and half the price, you would rather buy/play Bob because he's English?

Surely the biggest teams want the best players, no matter what nationality they are. Only a few English players would get into the Arsenal side that played on Tuesday, and they would be impossible to sign.

I thought they Champions League tie on Tuesday was a fantastic result for a very, very good group of young players. Not a group of foreigners.

If Ashley Cole had played would that have been acceptable? How about Cole AND Campbell? If Wenger had played with Richard Wright in goal, Upson at CB instead of Toure, Pennant instead of Hleb, Bentley instead of Pires and Walcott instead of Reyes, would that make you feel better.

When you play FM do you only sign English players for English clubs?

Cretin.

I don't like the way that the big teams ignore home grown talent. That is what is wrong with the SPL and it has led to Scottish national football becoming a joke.

I agree that clubs should sign the best players, but also think there should be regulations on home grown players.

Were'nt a load of people on here complaining about immigrants recently?

All this "they've got no English players in their side" bollocks makes me laugh, two words sum up why Wenger doesnt buy English players 'Franny Jeffers!", why pay loads for an English player when he can get a better foreigner for a quarter of the price.

This arguement that having English players at top clubs is bollocks. If you throw a couple of medicore young english (Pook? Cheesy ) players into the arsenal side, will it make them better players in the long run or just make arsenal a worse team in the shot term?

Quality will always rise to the top. So what if young english players dont get a chance at top clubs? They will just drop down to a lower premiership or championship club, get some 1st team football, and if they are good enough, end up at a top club again sooner or later.

The vast majority of the current England squad have been earmarked as potential stars since their teenage years, and have been given 1st team football. The others simply wewnt good enough
