This was of course a sample from the 60's band The Equals....who featured Eddie Grant.

I have a very vague memory of seeing them in a radical gig at the John Street car park in town.

It had about 3 stories and a band played on each level....think its been knocked down now? Not really a car park man.

I would question the right of that song to be on a "Best of Ska" compilation.

Right.. I'm thinking the gig in the car park was about 67 or 68 so that would stack up.

No best of ska is complete without  the Ska Wars theme by Rico.

Well not really ska at all but an ace track.

Can you ever imagine us beating anyone with 9 players on the pitch these days?

We've had a few games where we've ended up with 9...but the only one I can recall winning was v Plymuff around 89....when the landlord of The Dolphin scored a great goal.....they only had 10 mind and Shaun Close walked which was probably to our advantage.....we actually won 3-0 mainly due to Ossie's great tactical sub of taking off Duncan Shearer and playing with no forwards.

I do remember us taking a game into extra-time with only 9-but we lost on golden goal rule.Southend away in the LDV,Robinson and O'Halloran sent off,Turbo's debut and Reddy scored.

We've had a couple of draws with 9, including a 0-0 at Brentford.
