I was playing poker just now and flopped a straight flush queen high. I think that's the first time I've ever done that but hopefully not the last.
I got a king high one the other day but I've never had a royal flush. I did lose to one though not long ago.
This is the hand. Unfortunately it was only low stakes and only one other person had called and as I had all the decent cards I didn't want to scare him away so I didn't make much but still a great hand.

Nice one Ben! A while back, i had a flop of A, K and 10 of Hearts. Everyone checks. Then comes the J of Hearts on the turn. Everyone craps themselves, so everyone checks. Fuck me! There's the Queen of Hearts on the river! Everyone goes all in Never ever to be repeated again, i'll wager

I registered on party poker earlier because you get $25 free dollars for playing 100 hands, I've played 50 so far. Had some nasty luck though.
Pocket queens lost to someone calling with a pair of threes and got another three on the flop, pocket kings lost to three sixes which made a full house, three jacks lost to a full house 5s full of jacks and then pocket aces lost to someone who had a pair of sevens and got three sevens on the flop. Pure nasty. Luckily it's only at low limits so I only lost $17 and as long as I get the bonus $25 I'll still be up but I've had a ridiculous amount of bad luck.
I've turned that free $10 on royalvegas into $50 though over the last few weeks and I managed to withdraw $30 of it ok so that's good. Think I'll stick to playing there once I've got the bonus.

bwb's experience shows why you should bet it out pre-flop with high pocket pairs. To be fair it does depend on your position on the table. You can get away with smaller bet if you are dealer. You should never slow play AA or KK or especially QQ unless you are low on chips. you've always got to be scared of 2 pair if you see the flop, or an A if you have K's, or A or K if you have Q

I didn't slow play, raised 7 times the blind preflop with the pocket aces. That's a big raise and more than I'd generally raise with aces, the other guy just got a perfect card. I was small blind and everyone else just limped in.

Tyou probably did the right thing. fuck knows. I'm too hammered at the moment to work it out. From my experience on tourney play, it's all about waiting for the big hands When you are massively higher than the blinds you should call as much as possible (especially in late pos), if you can afford to keep seing random flops then you should.
To be fair don't listen to me, I'm on a massive tourney poker downfall.

Still didn't get any luck on party poker but played enough hands to get the bonus money so I've just taken my $50 straight back out plus a couple of the bonus dollars. Left a bit in but doubt I'll play there much, doesn't seem that good. Nice bonus though and I'm getting sent a couple of free poker books for signing up too so it was worth it.

Just finished 6th/2400 in the pokerroom freeroll! Final hand I had AJ suited clubs went allin with 300,000 chip leader called me he had about 600,000 with KK got a pair of aces and a flush draw so I was 95% favourite on the turn he gets one of his three kings to beat me. Ah well decent result anyway, should've won $25 as long as I have enough poker points. I'm gonna win it sooner or later. https://www.pokerroom.com/games/tournament/?id=10148558
