I suppose making Holocaust Denial a crime, it is their way of keeping the Neo Nazis under control as the 'belief' that the Holocaust did not take place is central to their ideology.

Free speach is ace. But it's biggest problem is that it applies to everybody.
From my pretty limited political vision it seems like a less complicated and more specific version of our laws against inciting racial hatred. Of course our law would break down in this situation becasue it would be pretty difficult to proove intent.
Of course it should come down to a general education where everybodys got the knowledge to judge when people are talking bollocks, but there are always going to be a few who slip through the net and it seems like human nature to head for an us and them point of view. Whoever 'them' may be.

the reason being that a lot of far right groups preach that the hollocaust was a jewish conspiracy and use this theory as the template for the hatred there is also the theroy that it was all made up by the russians and other communists to make facism look bad. however its total bollocks! too much eveidence to believe any of it |

The guy has gone back on what he said, but:
He basically discovered that there was no written proof that Hitler had anything to do with the holocaust, so technically, it never happened. Hitler did not sign agreements, and therefore it is impossible to legally link him with the extermination camps.
The guy went on a tour of Europe lecturing on his findings. He happened to stop off in Austria where it was illegel. Oops. Guilty. End of.

Yeah, but in Mein Kampf he never states he's going to go on a Jew-killing rampage.
If you read it (I have) it's nothing more than alot of idealistic and sometimes racist fantasy... The only notable policy he draws on is increasing German occupation (living space etc) to the East
