Is it just me or is anyone else a little concerned that we're pinning all of our survival hopes on one fella, Paul Smith, who's only really had a good couple of games.  Don't get me wrong I like the look of the bloke but I don't think I've seen enough of him to tell whether his contribution will keep us up.

I think CCP will be an important player for us.He's young and inexperienced but every time I've seen him he's been an example to the so-called "more experienced " players.Just one thought from Sat.Why is no one slating Peacock for that unbelievable miss which would have put us back in the game. That was fucking shocking for someone "allegedly" on 3k a week.

Maybe because he's been the only one trying recently?, i didnt go Saturday so i cant comment on what he was like but from what i could make out when they interviewed him after the game is that he actually does give a fuck about this club.

I didnt want to comment on the Peacock miss because Rory would have scored it!!

It was right up the other end, but it looked easy enough to me...could be wrong.

I dont think Peacock put in any more effort than anyone else. Its all very well saying things after the game to make it sound as you give a fuck but his performance didn't say that to me.Not singling him out though.

Nicky Southall's a right winger isn't he? I wonder who usually bothers marking right wingers... Wink
He played right mid and started diagonal runs from deep, so by the time he was in our box his marker should have been ... Ifil Wink

not if hes marking tyson  Shrug, who incidentally didn't score.

not like the midfield gave any support either

Just be satisfied with him marking his own man properly for a change.

I'll bet you a pound to a pinch of shit that most, if not all, of Ifil's bookings and sendings off have come when he's playing in a zonal defense.

It's well documented by now that when he's asked to play a man marking role he's able to turn in excellent defensive performances.

However, and here's the rub, whenever he has to think about who his man is at any stage in a game his lack of concentration and lack of positional awareness become glaringly obvious. Any team with strikers that constantly criss cross and midfielders that bomb on will inevitably cause Ifil to go into "headless chicken" mode.

So the problem isn't that Ifil has to mark everyone. It's that he has great difficulty making his mind up which one of the opposition is his man.

maybe the others should help him out more, or maybe our defence could try talking to each other....

Surely our captain should be bossing Ifil and telling him who to mark.
