Right, I'm in the early stages of planning a couple of weeks travelling in August. Have narrowed the list down to:
China
Brazil
Mexico
Vietnam
Japan
Thailand
South Africa

I need to eliminate 6 of these. Recommendations would be appreciated from those of you in the know.

Will I find enough to do for two weeks in those places?

You can't go far wrong with any of those from what I've herd.

If you do Thailand make sure you're there for a full moon and you could easily take in Vietnam travelling overland.  Having said that you may find a couple of weeks aren't long enough.

Mate has done Brazil but did admit it was a struggle without any Portugese.

Could try...

End of August going to get my tickets in a couple of weeks then play in Vegas for a week after.

Cheers, gives me a bit more to think about. Was planning to leave 8-9th August, so Burning Man will be too late for us.

better than that scan the passport and send it to your email with a copy to home.  Lose it and print it off

Fucking hell thats the most sensible suggestion ive ever come up with, and after I lost my passport last month.

thailand is good if you have never travelled before because its an easy way into independent travelling as there are som many fuckin students pissing around there, in some parts of bangkok there are more westerners than thais.

south africa i found awkward espescially on the east coast round the durban area, it might have been as if the anc didnt exist, very much apartheid still around this coast.

i would always opt for mexico! if you need detailed stuff about my homeland dont hesitate to ask.

I've seriously got itchy feet at the moment.  Serious urges to fuck off and get back on the travelling trail once again.

Unfortunately just buying an apartment hasn't helped with the necessary fundage.  Fortunately while I wait for yet another delayed departure date I’ve hopefully got Burning Man in Vegas lined up for later in the year.

Anyone else off on their travels in the near future?

Share the love….

Ohh and buy me this please...

Indo China is a good one, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.....Angkor Wat is supposed to be amazing.

You can always throw in Thailand too if you fancy the extra bit.

I've never really fancied travelling to be honest. I'm not really in to the whole pikey youth hostel thing. Having said that I've been to quite a few different places over the years on holiday so its not like I've never seen the world outside Swindon :|

I'd love to go to Aus though, may think about going in a couple of years time, one of my best mates lives in sydney these days.

Holiday wise i'm going to spain at the end of April to stay with my dad for a week. The lazy cunt has retired out there

Youth hostels are superb in certain countries.  Oz being the best example, full of a new set of playmates every day and to date everyone I've ended up crashing in with has been superb.

No pikeys and some of them are them are better than a standard hotel.

Places like Thailand and the like are so cheap anyway you can get a whole beach side bungalow ensuite for less than a fiver a night.

End of my trip to Peru I was staying in 5 star hotels for 30 quid a night!
