New contract offers on the table for

Rhys Evans, Jack Smith, Sean O’Hanlon, Jerel Ifil and Andy Nicholas are all mulling over new deals ahead of Rotherham United’s visit to the County Ground tomorrow.

Ricky Shakes and Charlie Comyn-Platt are also considering fresh contract offers.

Fucking ace !!! well done Iffy !

Lets hope the board have recognised the efforts and that pissy 1 year deals are not good enough if we are serious about keepng these players !

Give them all 2 year deals - at least then if other clubs are sniffing around they're gonna have to stump up some decent cash to prise them away!  Cheesy

Igoe's doing well at Rovers, same with Howard at Barnsley. City fans seem to really rate Heywood aswell.

I think if they continue something similar to the current run of form for the rest of the season and keep this club in league one the least they should be offered is a two-year deal.

It takes bottle and spirit to prise yourself out of the shit we found ourselves in. We've got a young squad with plenty of potential, keep them together and with mimimal additional investment we can improve season by season.
I look to Luton for my optimism, shit ground, small gates and a successful team built on continuity and team spirit.

the same players that got us in the shit. they aint that good.
they should be gratefull of a year and prove themselves next season or fuck off.
the only ones that we could get money for would be o'hanlon or evans.
if whatever has been offered to each player aint good enough for them let them go.

I suspect we'll see a repeat of last season, whereby the players agents advise them to look around for the best deal.....those that can get better will leave, which last season was just about all of them, except Rhys Evans, who on this seasons form will go in the summer.

if they can get more dosh they will leave, are any of them that good ?
i wouldn't be that bothered to lose any of them exept for o'hanlon and evans.
i trust iffy in the job and think he will do the right thing,if the players stay great, if not never mind

Out of the eleven players who started the first league game of this season, six of them had never played a competitive match for Swindon Town FC.
It was never going to work, but unfortunately necessity dictated that this was what we had to do..
Following early defeats King attempted to 'firefight' by bringing in useless loanees (McCammon anyone?) and giving them regular starting slots.
The true difference, in my opinion, regarding our current play-off form boils down to a few major points.

Limited loanees.. At the moment only players contracted to Swindon Town are starting matches.

Consistency of team selection.. replacements only for injuries or genuine tactical reasons.

Confidence.. We all know we're better than relegation, so it seems do the players at this moment in time.

These players have got us out of the shit that was caused by too many players leaving the club (i.e the reason we started the league with over six new faces), not anything self-inflicted.
If you ask me, they're now showing their true worth and if we don't want exactly the same thing to happen season after season we have to show confidence in our playing squad - 2 year deals.

The board also have to trust the management's judgement, especially when you consider the impact that Iffy's limited signings seem to have made to our chances this season.

Not sure why you're getting so excited that they've been offered contracts. Reminds me of when people were delighted that Fallon was in contract talks. It doesn't mean anything until they sign.
