I imagine a coach trip to Carlisle will be much like a family weeks holiday at Butlins in Minehead.  Not something for the faint hearted.

It's not a bad a journey as people think though. It's not much further up the M6 than when we went to Accrington.

106.3 miles, according to my best friend MapQuest.

Not significant, but far enough...

271 miles from Swindon to Carlisle. 4 Hours and 9 minutes  

(MapQuest clearly doesn't know about the M6...)
