In a time of consenus politics it's difficult to establish the differences between the Conservatives & Labour. Just a case of two different management companies of the same system, boom & bust is just the nature of the British economy at the moment with both parties rarely differing on most policy issues barring the economy, which really comes down to discrepancy as to what to cut and how quickly to do so. Labour are not 'socialist' - Their roots may lie with Socialism, but in continuing with free market & privatisation policy brought in by Thatcher they have practically severed their traditional left roots and aligned themself with the centre. Conservative & Labour may like you to think that they differ massively and are broadly different, but really it's all about garnering votes rather than upholding their values and implementing them. As shown by Cameron promising an EU referendum, nothing but a ploy to stop voters from siding with UKIP, Cameron and his ministers dont want out of the EU and there will be no referendum even if they do win the election.
