Games I've personally been to -

Brighton at home in the Play-off
Winning 3-0 at Elland Road
Loosing to Wolves on Penalties in the league cup
Both Charlton play-off legs but the best was defo the away leg!

Another game of note with a fantastic atmosphere was away at Ipswich in 85 when we got mullered 6-1 when we had nearly 6,000 travelling fans in a crowd of 12,000 on a Tuesday night in the League Cup, awesome atmosphere from the Town fans.

Agree about stoke. Mentioned it on here before myself in a similar thread. Atmosphere was the best i've encountered anywhere. We clinched a play off place and they went down that day.

This was one of my best away days also....

Strangely loosing 7-1 at Nottingham Forest was also a great away day!

Anyone remember the 0-0 draw away at Brentford? We had both centre forwards sent off within around 20 minutes, then played brilliantly for the rest of the game. We nearly even sneaked a win. I remember at the end of the game, the Brentford keeper turning around to us and applaud us. A great memory!
I remember Bodin came close to scoring right at the end

A few of the best for me:

West Ham home cup 1977 (ish) - packed Town End
Wolves away league cup semi 1980
Selhurst Park play-off vs Pikeys 1987
Pox 2 Town 4 after being 2-0 down in 7 mins - early 90s

All a long while ago, perhaps time embelishes some of the memories.

Blackburn away in the 90's playoffs, used to love the ticker tape.  Lids in the league cup was great until Paul Robinsons goal.

I also have vague memories of a game against Brighton at the Goldstone ground, rained on us the whole game, 3-0 down and managed to get it back to 3-3 (I also think White had a goal disallowed in the last minute).

Went to that Brighton game....Peter Ward springs to mind.

Used to love going to the Goldstone...similar to Loftus Road for Atmosphere.
Stoke match when we was two down in the cup was good as well.
My favourite all time away day was Swansea away on boxing day in 79.....we beat them 2-1(there only home defeat that season i believe)
We took thousands...i went by train special.

Hold on a minute...............were none of you at the Swindon V Oxford game with the smoke bomb ?

I was in the Town End - electric

Oxford going for Promotion, Swindon trying to stay up, Oxford all over us, smoke bomb thrown in goal, Swindon attack, goalie can't see anything, Swindon score, Town End disbelieving bedlam.
Oxford fans rip up ground, chaos outside

remember it now ?

How can that not be the best atmoshpere ever ?

And, of course, this is the game that gave the user name of the famous 'Eric Read' personna on the yellows forum - that was the name of the ref in that game

(Newport away when we went down into L4 comes a close second)

Ah, I didn't know that - I presume it was this game (before my time)
