Afternoon all, I'm off to Amstersdam in a couple of weeks and would like to watch Ajax who are at home. According to the Ajax english website, those abroad can only buy a package which I don't want to do. Has anyone been to the Amerstam Arena? Can you just pitch up and pay to get in? All help gratefully received as ever.
Hi Donkey. I have not been to Amsterdam but been to watch PSV Eindhoven 3 times now and it sounds like the system they adopt in the Netherlands might be standard (Something to do with reducing hooliganism over there or similar).
We had to buy a package which depending on the category of game was 50 Euro. For this you get a match ticket, 20 Euro voucher for the club shop and 15 Euro of tokens for beer.
The second time was against Feyenoord so was more expensive. 70 Euro for the same deal, however because of the high risk element, no alcohol was on sale
The third time was a pain as I already had the shirt and the home and away socks so I didn't know what merchandise to buy! (think I went for a nike t shirt in the end!)
