If it is Cooper then the timing will be a bit odd in that 1. it will mean they had made their decision to appoint him before the Shrewsbury game, so why not just give it to him beforehand? and 2. after 4 games I don't think any of us believe we've seen enough of him to decide either way, and since he seemed happy enough to carry on in the caretaker role, what's the rush? 

Would be very surprised if it isn't him though.

Surely timing is based upon one of Power's forays into the country from his tax haven? He can't come over very often, so I suspect today's meeting was tied into other business he has to do in the UK.

(Of course, he could just be video conferencing into the meeting)

I remain convinced that they have someone else in mind but I suppose it's a matter of whether they can appoint them and if nnot? Congratulations to Mark Cooper on his default appointment!

I think that others have been approached but reckon that the player recruitment policy and style of play is the main issue with whoever comes in or if Cooper takes over. Those decisions were made by others,not the interim boss. So in conclusion is the new manager really that important?

Well yes it is...I accept your point that the coach has to work within te constraints imposed form above, but even so there are still some possibilities for tactical creativity and visionary coaching within this set up.

PDC was like a 10 year old playing Football Manager. Just churning and churning the squad and keep hitting 'board request' and fining the players all the time until they are all unhappy with him.

Lee Power is more like a 15 year old who thinks he is Pep Guardiola playing Football Manager. Some interesting transfers, set the coaching to 'automatic', passing to 'short' and then make job offers to every coach in the league, but none of them want to join because it's a shit job and he is making all the interesting decisions.

He's definitely asked the board to find a feeder club and picked Spurs- we even got the pre season friendly!

A mate was chatting to one of the players today in the gym and he told him that Cooper's getting the job.  I'm not sure whether that was an assumption from the player or whether he actually knew. 

It's all a bit pathetic really,  isn't it? Although the board aren't the best at communicating (although they are getting better) when they do communicate it's looked on with scepticism and distrust.
It's pretty sad that a portion of our fanbase are so negative about virtually everything and another section seems to veer from a win making us world beaters and a defeat making us relegation certainties.
Some people bleating about having bought season tickets and wishing they hadn't, others castigating the club for signing a player they object to.
Serious question,  why the fuck do you bother? If it's such a fucking chore to support the club, if everything's so shit, what's the appeal in following them? Wouldn't you be happier doing something else?

Everyone's entitled to how and why they support STFC and the caveats they may have that justify, or not, that support.

Personally, I'm only interested in what happens on the pitch and I don't really care too much what players we have to achieve success (however that is measured)

I'm sure there have been more than few dickheads that have represented the club over the years and that there is an awful lot of incidents we have never heard about.

TUMDFC came about a long time after the TEF first incarnation...and amusingly I was refused entry, as it was a clique  :)

This forum was set up because we  had no say on the way the forum at thisisstfc.co.uk was run. We couldn't ban j1mmy and mickey hazard was god and there was some issue with the forum software or something similar.

As it turned out, I think both of them found their way on to the TEF and nobody has a say in how the TEF is run.
