Adver editor met with him, he didn't introduce himself, threatened the Adver with legal action and stormed out.

Oh my. Is this because he made comments to the Editor he would not have made if he knew who he was or something? Not the best relationship atm then...

I can kind of understand it, they haven't exactly received glowing coverage from the Adver in their short tenure, but it is a tad childish. much better to have the paper on-side, seeing as how many people read it as gospel.

I think the advert have been very considerate so far. They should go for the jugular now.

As far as I know:
- They ran a story on Glenn Evans quitting the Women's team due to unkept promises.

- Adver claim to have asked 3 times for comment from STFC, but didn't get it so ran the story.

Much ado about nothing. Though STFC do seem to have tried really hard to shoot themselves in the foot at every PR opportunity (IMHO).

Would be surprised if the lack of news recently is anything other than it being slow this time of year, plus the club aren't the most communicative anyway right now.

But why the big song and dance about making sure it was known Jed was not involved in anyway, if they had left it then no body would have really batted an eye lid as (no offence) the ladies team isnt that big a deal in the grand scheme

I'd take Benson, definitely. We're looking for a taller striker, and I remember him being very good as Dagenham rose through the leagues.

I've been offered Collins. I'm not sure what he's like about the house mind, not sure if he's worth the money.

It's not really about who leaves, it's about who comes.

That will tell us what we can expect next season.

How does it feel taking all our cast offs? Kerrouche, Cox, possibly Benson... Must annoy you deep down surely...

Cox was great thanks (the cast off that still plays for you?), and Kerrouche only played for us twice I think. Tommy Mooney did a job too. Adi Viveash was fine for where we were. What did you think of Beauchamp? That one worked out pretty good for us.

Benson isn't a cast off - you're desperately trying to slash your wage bill because you have a bunch of crooks in charge. When September comes you'll be begging for a striker like him.

Sadly, in this case the Oxford fan is spot on for the most part - Cox was a cast off at the time, will be our only central midfielder come August!!!

Plus I'll never refuse a chance to claim Joey Beauchamp as the biggest cunt and waste of money in STFC history.

But at the back of your mind you still think, these are players not deemed good enough to play for Swindon yet they become your best players at Oxford.

But yeah you can try and convince yourself otherwise. If the day comes when we're getting Oxford reserves in on loan I will be very embarrassed, regardless of whether they're any good or not.

Actually, with Cox I thought to myself "I'm glad their fickle and overly hormonal manager has taken a dislike to this lad, he's clearly a decent CM who could get into most L1 sides. I bet they'll need him back at the end of the season as their lunatic manager will fuck off somewhere better, their promotion challenge will go down the drain, and then they'll be in financial/managerial/boardroom meltdown (again)," and with Mooney it was "fuck me, I'm glad Tommy rejected Swindon's contract offer in favor of ours."

If that type of stuff bothers you then you're fucking childish and need to take a good look at yourself. Get out into the world, find out what really bothers you - because you should be embarrassed if it's meaningless shit like that.

Kerrouche's main achievement was giving the ball away leading to a goal for Shrewsbury as your season was imploding.  Beauchamp was a great buy for us, firstly because Adi Whitbread was somehow valued at half-a-million in the deal, and secondly because he scored the winner(via the back of the keeper's head) in an improbable comeback against Charlton in the League Cup second round.  We probably made our money back on our run to semis after that.  Seem to remember him having one of his few good games against Derby in the fourth round as well.

I'm not clutching at straws, honest.  Benson would do well for you.

The Adver started off very accommodating and on board with the club, if the club have made an enemy in them then it's the clubs own fault.
