Title: Most atmospheric games Post by: kerry red on Friday, May 11, 2012, 16:57:10 Another 'All Our Yesterdays' theme, but I reckon the atmosphere, with a definite undercurrent of violence, that was cracking was Swindon v Millwall in the League Cup quarter final.
Jeez, there was some nasty moments on the concourse at half time! Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: Peter Venkman on Friday, May 11, 2012, 17:05:25 Swindon vs Arsenal December 79, League Cup 1/4 final.
Incredible. Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: leefer on Friday, May 11, 2012, 17:51:15 Swindon vs Arsenal December 79, League Cup 1/4 final. Incredible. Best ever for me......the Millwall match was juicy.....was sweet hammering them on the pitch that night. Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: ronnie21 on Friday, May 11, 2012, 18:04:41 One of the best for me was when we beat West Ham in a FA Cup replay, 3-1 I think. West Ham had Bobby Moore, Martin Peters and Geoff Hurst amongst their team!! Sorry but we are going back to the 60's for that one - I thought the atmosphere for the Crawley home game this season was the best for any home game this time.
Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: Ardiles on Friday, May 11, 2012, 18:39:04 Sunderland at home. First game of the 1992/93 promotion season. Electric...even before Hoddle scored his piledriver.

Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: donkey on Friday, May 11, 2012, 18:53:03 Milwall at home in the Cup was great, of course, Jan's goal was magnificent.
I thoroughly enjoyed beating Leeds 3-0 away, too. The second half was a mixture of a party and disbelief. Also, Tranmere away in the playoffs, although that may just be the end of the game that has such a special place in the memory. Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: No Longer Posh Red on Friday, May 11, 2012, 18:53:23 Swindon vs Arsenal December 79, League Cup 1/4 final. Incredible. No game will ever beat this for me. Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: Notts red on Friday, May 11, 2012, 19:14:38 Wolves away leg of the league cup semi. Great atmosphere although the pitch was bloody miles away from the terrace, can't remember if there was a running track but we were a long way back. Also the Arsenal game in 79. Agree about Crawley this season, really loud and non stop.Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: Costanza on Friday, May 11, 2012, 19:16:02 I've not been blessed with going to many games with truly great atmospheres.
We were in good form at Bristol City (Darius Henderson brace). Most of, if not all, the best atmospheres have been with Town in the away end. Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: Notts red on Friday, May 11, 2012, 19:19:39 I've not been blessed with going to many games with truly great atmospheres. City away in the game we were relegated, we knew it was coming but totally out sang them regardless. Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: No Longer Posh Red on Friday, May 11, 2012, 19:38:58 The game at City that finished 1-1 in 1987 (I think) where we kept them out of the play-offs (and let the pikeys in).

Everton and Sheff Wed away in the PL were class days/evenings Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: dave_bambers_right_sock on Friday, May 11, 2012, 21:59:00 Luton away in the Simod Cup was awesome - Bamber was cheated that day. Luton's got a Shit ground, just remember that scoreboard with 'come on you hatters' had a nightmare trip back car broke down got back about 3 or 4 in the morning.I fucking hate Luton Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: reeves4england on Friday, May 11, 2012, 22:05:20 One of the best for me was when we beat West Ham in a FA Cup replay, 3-1 I think. Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: kerry red on Friday, May 11, 2012, 22:15:44 Tranmere away in the play-offs - had a great day out.
My most hated game, though, was Everton away FA Cup replay - what a bunch of scouse cunts they were. I remember one Swindon fan getting out of ambulance at Lime Street with hand bandaged up - where our northern rascals tried to cut his finger off to get at his wedding ring. Wrexham away in the League Cup in the 70s was an epic day out on the old football special Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: JanTheMan on Friday, May 11, 2012, 22:26:14 Bolton away in the league cup semi for me, well it was for 70mins. However, surely it must be the league cup final in 69 ? The chant of SWINDON SWINDON SWINDON SWINDON at the end of normal time and before extra time will live with me for ever. Wonderful memories and lets hope more will come in the future...... Come on you reds... Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: TheMajorSTFC on Friday, May 11, 2012, 23:35:55 Too many for me to choose from...
Sunderland end of season 97-98 was quality (I was mascot that day) Bristol City when Alan Reeves scored the 81st minute winner (the away end went fookin mental) Leeds United home and away during play off season, League Cup away 2003/4 season Crawley at home this season Walsall at home 06/07 promotion season + the rest I'll remember when you guys put them up!!! Title: Re: Most atmospheric games Post by: SuggWillSugg MBE on Saturday, May 12, 2012, 02:01:57 Charlton Away playoff second leg 09/10 season

I also have vague memories of a game against Brighton at the Goldstone ground, rained on us the whole game, 3-0 down and managed to get it back to 3-3 (I also think White had a goal disallowed in the last minute).
