It's ridiculous that they never show anything that people might want to see on there. Might as well save on electricity and maintenance and take it down.

disagree, hate watching football in busy pubs, over crowded, get more beer down your clothes than in your mouth. And being summer you sweat like a mother.

But most of the time, you can't see that damn tv anyway. I think its a waste of council tax payers money.

The big screen is the biggest waste of council money ever. Its just a giant TV for tramps to drink white ace and watch the looped weather channel.

The council turn off street lighting in certain areas to save money but keep that telly on well into the evening when nobody is around. It's a bit strange.

They had the rugby on the other day when I walked past. Was only Ireland against Italy, but was still sport.

I'd imagine it's to do with the BBC, so any sports the BBC show will be shown on there

I'm not a fan of watching the big games in pubs, much prefer my mates coming round mine or vice versa.

Yeah i prefer that as well. You cant pick the company in massive bars and they always seem to fill up with massive twats when big footy games are on.

Me and a few mates took it in turns to have BBQs for the world cup, beats the pub every time.

yes, just imagine the carnival atmosphere in town as England stutter along and barely scrape out of the group....I can hardly contain my excitement.

 I'm rather hoping, using the lack of interest in the England team on this site as a barometer, that this summer pubs will be much more pleasant during matches....a return to pre 1990 hopefully.

Going back to the Screen, there is a by law against street drinking down Town. The Police would have to put a lot of effort and money into Policing it if football was on the big screen in summer.

Supermarket booze is just too cheap in comparison to the Pubs.
