Oxford City away could be fun. WSM is a shithole but easy to get to and plenty of drinking - a reasonable welcoming committe I would suspect.

In terms of possible local games, a couple of friends are Gloucester City season ticket holders who went to Chelmsford today.  They were 1-0 at 90 mins only to see a Chelmsford equaliser at the death.  Replay on Tuesday.

Paolo isn't dull its lge2 v lge1 and also the fact that Hudds could be over 40 unbeaten by then....good chance of TV in my book.

As we have such a massive squad it would be good to see some of the 'fringe' players given a chance to shine in this game.

Depends what they do with prices, but when the fixture was played in 02, it attracted just over 4000. 

But in 2002 our average crowd was just over 5,000 so it wasn't a bad effort. £15 adults would be sensible and i could see us getting 7,000ish . Anything £20+ would see a very low crowd i reckon.

Worst possible draw, however we havent done bad against higher leagues sides so far this season, so I'm not 100% convinced we are out yet, only 99%.

I just don't see this as a shit draw at all, not when you think of some of the real shit, that knocks around in the 1st round of the cup....imagine Luton away, or any of a host of norvern teams away....say Scunny or HPool or Carlisle.  Or some park non league outfit like East Thurrock United.

Even worse, a side from Div 4, like Bradford City again.

Not a bad draw at all.....OK we've played them loads recently, but they are up there as a "name" team atm, and so we've nothing to lose.

I regard it as shit in terms of possible progress into the 3rd round, which all i care about in the early rounds.

We already know we have to make a change in the back 4 although if Rhodes is away that will be a big bonus for us.

Whilst you should go into every game thinking you can win, the fact that the last 30+ league one teams to play them haven't managed to beat them might suggest that it will be tough.

For me, in the first two rounds you want home ties against teams you would expect to beat.

It's going to be another 6-0 to us.

 We've had enough of these lately....I'm thinking Boston, Barnet and Notts County that should tell you, we're not very good at dealing with these sort of games.  We tend to be better going in with nothing to lose, remember how we took out higher league Carlisle in 06....probably the last time we beat such a team.

Was expecting something a little more 'romantic'. Would of liked an away trip to a smaller club for once, but it will be a good test all the same for the squad.

There must be a way of working this out, but I can't believe there can be many other clubs with such a lousy Cup (capital 'C' denoting the FA variety) pedigree as us in the 20 odd years I've been a fan.  Think of all the non-League sides that have gone past us and all those higher league clubs we haven't beaten.  Where are the famous victories we can point to?  Has to change at some point.

I *think* Plymouth have a very poor cup record. Think they went years without winning a cup tie.

Certainly since 95/96, when we got to the 5th round on the back of a nice run of home ties, we've been terrible in the Cup.

At the start of the 00's, there was a nice historic stat, on the all time % of FA Cup games won, we were in the top ten. Having had a very decent history for a lower league side going back to the days of the Southern League. I  was brought up on big sides being a bit fearful of a trip to the CG, and being happy with a replay.

Posh, although we got past Morecambe and Forest Green, we rode our luck in both of those. I'd just rather not play any half decent Conference/ Conference N or S....I've had enough losing to non league sides to last me for another 10 or so years.

At least it's not away.

Although they should beat us I don't see them coming to us being over confident as its a tricky game for them too. Its not a bad draw for us really as would hate to go out to a non league side which would set us back confidence wise.

Lets face it, our game was never going to be high profile enough to get on TV.

if we were away at a non league side with a chance of being dumped out then they may well have put us on but not playing Uddersfield.

The games on TV are pretty predictable, 2 non league sides at home against league opposition and Morecambe flying high in the 4th division and on an excellent run of form at home to Sheff Weds flying high in the 3rd Division who will take a massive following to Morecambe and make it a good atmosphere there for the TV.

Sounds reasonable to me. Its round 1 but decent if uninspiring opposition.
