Title: Andrew Fitton Post by: otanswell on Thursday, September 22, 2011, 18:24:18 Just filing my accounts at Companies House and thought I'd have a nose at the company operating the football club.
It would appear on 19th September, Fittons appointment as a director was terminated? Anyone able to confirm this? Title: Re: Andrew Fitton Post by: Costanza on Thursday, September 22, 2011, 18:38:07 Nobody wants to discuss this one ;)

There is a few (or more) companies involved in STFC though, it's possible he's still a director of one of them and even if he's not I'm not sure I would read too much in to it. Title: Re: Andrew Fitton Post by: tans on Thursday, September 22, 2011, 18:47:58 Why dont you post what it said on there otanswell
Title: Re: Andrew Fitton Post by: Reg Smeeton on Thursday, September 22, 2011, 18:48:50 We appear to have veered a long way off the course, that Fitton set out for his chairmanship, so I'd have thought it quite possible he gone altogether...

Title: Re: Andrew Fitton Post by: Simon Pieman on Thursday, September 22, 2011, 20:11:09 My system doesn't have the document available yet, will check in a couple of days or so, though it does acknowledge his resignation.
He's still a director of the holding company and still has his shares in it for now. Title: Re: Andrew Fitton Post by: deltaincline on Thursday, September 22, 2011, 22:53:54 I believe messrs Arbib and Black are the real money men behind us?
Fitton had his chance, blew it spectacularly and is maybe now simply exiting stage left, after a reasonable - if slightly predictable, face-saving period of time has elapsed since his resignation as Chairman. The board did this when Old Chinless Wills was fucked off if you remember back a while. It's the mark of a professional management setup. Nothing to be gained from embarrassing the guy and drawing unwanted attention to those who both appointed him and funded his tenure. (not a pop, just an observation -- if you're reading this Sir Martyn / Mr Black:-) I can't help feeling a genuine pang of regret about Fitton's failure to turn us around after finally wrenching the club away from the Newbury Mafia (always grateful for that masterstroke.) So much promise and professionalism just turned to jack-shit in the end. Terrible shame, but there you go. Title: Re: Andrew Fitton Post by: Power to people on Friday, September 23, 2011, 05:53:35 I would be dissapointed if it turned out he has resigned he was the one that was instrumental in getting rid of the old guard and was always very preffesional in his dealings for the club he may have failed in his bid to get us on the up but it certainly was not through a lack of trying unfortunetly he just stayed loyal a bit too long
Title: Re: Andrew Fitton Post by: Batch on Friday, September 23, 2011, 06:34:42 It shouldnt be forgotten Fitton got the clubs finances in order, restored its credibility and took us within a game of the Championship. We were so close to fulfilling his goal.
Last season was a difficult one. Must of hurt his pride. In any case how is the club structured? I assume there are separate boards for the club and the holding company? Even if they are (were) comprised of the same people? Title: Re: Andrew Fitton Post by: mrverve on Friday, September 23, 2011, 08:14:57 I've got a lot of time for Fitton. Will always be grateful for him being a part of a consortium that saved this club, this should never be forgotten.
Incidently under him we had our best season in a decade but also our worst. Title: Re: Andrew Fitton Post by: Peter Venkman on Friday, September 23, 2011, 08:36:57 I've got a lot of time for Fitton. These are all of Fitton's directorships. (also, this site give free access to Co House docs, for those who need to know) Title: Re: Andrew Fitton Post by: Ardiles on Friday, September 23, 2011, 08:42:29 I've got a lot of time for Fitton. Anyone who takes an interest in how the club is run off the field of play will certainly not forget what AF did for the club. It's a shame that his tenure did not bring tangible success on the pitch - but he can leave with his head held high. However, we were up there in 09/10 with the Likes of Norwich, Leeds, Millwall, Huddersfield, Charlton Southampton. Did the double over Leeds and Southampton. We were in the top 2 in April and went into the last day of the season with a chance of automatic promotion. All in what was the strongest League 1 in years. Last season, we we're abysmal and Fitton should take part of the blame for that. (also, this site give free access to Co House docs, for those who need to know) Unfortunately it isn't up to date as he is still showing as director of the club Title: Re: Andrew Fitton Post by: iffy on Friday, September 23, 2011, 10:04:01 yeah, it scrapes companies house I think. But it has the accounts that show he's resigned.
Title: Re: Andrew Fitton Post by: Simon Pieman on Friday, September 23, 2011, 10:19:46 Does seem pretty good though. My company pays for a similar license.
Incidentally the termination of directorship document is now available on my system and his appointment was terminated on 24 August 2011. Title: Re: Andrew Fitton Post by: Ardiles on Friday, September 23, 2011, 10:27:50 He obvious couldn't carry on after losing to Oxford.
