Agreed - I think this is a story where all the facts have not been revealed, so its hard to form an objective opinion.  Lets see what comes out over the next few days - and possibly all calm down a bit.

Clarke doesn't seem the sort of person to stay quiet if what Paolo says isn't true, and the papers will be jizzing their pants over anything negative they can get on Di Canio so it will be all over the press in the next few days if that is the case.

I am behind Di Canio anyway and glad to see the back of Clarke if thats his attitude.

I think arriba posted it somewhere - I think there is more to this. I dont fully believe the clubs version of events and if Clarke had his say I doubt I'd fully believe his version of events either.

Of course - if Clarke had actually told the club he wanted to leave there story would make much more sense.

DV was buying into Di Canio pre-season. He let Town back into his heart and the disappointment of August has left him spitting with further fury.

If clarke had told the club (through his agent or directly) that he wasn't happy, and it was in relation to the training, then that makes the actions of the fitness coach unforgivable. Even if Clarke is a huge wannabe big bollocks twat face, which I don't doubt he might be, club management going down to that level to tell him "Ha, what you complained about we're going to make you do more of tomorrow" in front of colleagues, customers and media, is just as unprofessional, comma.

Nope. I still think Di Canio's public views are abhorrent and his appointment will forever be a stain on the club's history. I realised that deleting my account on an internet forum was a pretty pointless thing as soon as I did it, but you can understand that feelings were running high that morning/afternoon/whenever it was.

I thought I'd actually done a pretty good job of staying out of the fascism debate before he was appointed, but I haven't looked back to check, I probably slipped a few times.

When he did get the job I was pretty angry so made the decision to quit before I got drunk and went on a banning, renaming all the forums, general anger spree.

Couldn't resist listening to the Oxford game, thought fuck it this is silly and made a few posts before going to the pub at half time.

If I'm honest it's fucking horrible and twisty inside at the moment. I hate Di Canio's public views, but I could never want Swindon to lose. The Oxford game hurt. The Bristol City game didn't make up for it, anybody who tells you otherwise isn't a Swindon fan.

I feel especially bad about paulD and disassociating himself from the club generally. I completely agree with him, 100%. But it's sad. Nobody could ever question his commitment to the club, with all the incredible work he put in for the trust. The amount of work he put in when things were really, really, shit should never ever be forgotten. Some things are far more important than football though, and if you don't agree then you're probably an emotionally stunted twat face.

I've had a bit of a reprieve over the summer, my sister's been paying me a bit over the equivalent of jobseekers to look after my wonderful little nephew. Their tax credits (or whatever they are) got cut, so they were actually pretty lucky that I was available.

That fun ends next week, my sister is spawning another one and is starting on maternity leave.

I'm not looking forward to signing on again, last time I was spending more time jumping through their hoops to stay on it than I was looking for realistic work. I'm lucky that I'm not a complete idiot, but they pull some horrible shit to try and catch people out. For example, they'll give you a job to apply to (fair enough), but even if you ask they won't tell you the application deadline. If you miss that, then they cut your benefits and have to appeal etc.

I think Mex was spotted at the Oxford game.  Evidently couldn't stay away...so not sure how that squares with deleting a forum account.  As for PaulD, just think it's very sad.  Always had a lot of time for his views and his love for the club was obvious.  But I thought then - and still think now - that he's allowed someone whose views he strongly disapproves of to rob him of one of the things that he loves.
