First Rose and now Prutton. Fantastic news on the playing side.

One thing from the article though "Interim chairman Jeremy Wray informed all contracted players at the end of the season that they were free to leave if they desired" Does that include Caddis, Flint, Ritchie etc? Or has the Adver got that wrong?

Presumably it does but shows Wray only wants players who are commited to the cause.

I was well chuffed when we signed him and I'm even more chuffed he's leaving.

More interested in conditioner than football, good riddance.

Think most agree prutton pushed ferry out and Im not bothered if he goes. It will free up a space for Pdc to bring in one of his own choices. Would like jd to stay though as we know it can work with him and ferry together.

Prutton is an example of a footballer who showed so much promise in his youth and wasted away his career for one reason or another.
Wednesday will be used to it after having Jeffers.

Very pleased about this! Thought he was lazy and looked disinterested, how he played over 40 games for us whilst Ferry sat on the bench is a mystery to me!

There is an article in The Times today on Di Canio. It says he watched us 3 times last season so he must have a good idea of who he wants to keep and who he is booting out ?

Surely he means 3 televised games. He would have been spotted in the crowd during the last few games of the season.

I have seen something like this quoted elsewhere - perhaps even the OS. My reading of it was that he has watched dvd's from 3 matches at different stages of the season, and he went on to say that the team didn't play as a unit in any of them.

Prutton of old was a good player, unfortunately for anyone that signs him that is long gone.  SheffW must be planning on staying in Lge1 for a while if this is the calibre of player they are bringing in.  They recon he is 6 ft plus too?  Didn't look bloody 6 ft to me!

Superb news - him and Rose were arguably our worst players last season so I'm delighted to see the back of them.

Thank fuck for that, he was utter shit last season. Just to get rid of Pericard really now.

This is one of those times where if any teams see these comments they will think we are just being bitter etc but believe me i am so happy he has gone. You only need to look at the threads throughout the season where people have voiced this opinion

One of those players who you can see is now at that stage in his career is happy just getting his wages.Tries saying all the good stuff to the fans when in truth he is the laziest fucker i seen at this club in years.

Him and rose were woeful this season for us

With Prutton and Dossevi gone that hopefully means no more headbands. There's still another 8 or 10 who need showing the door.

Got rid of Wilson's failures in Rose and Prutton now. Good stuff. Dossevi and AOB already gone as well. Just Pericard to go now. That's surely a huge chunck of the wage bill gone? I'm hoping we can keep hold of Douglas now Prutton has gone.

As you all know i really liked him!!

Sad to see him go.

Reality check::::::

Only played well in the last few games and got my MOM for Oldham and Plymouth away. BUT overall shit......he got sent off against MK away and although i wasnt cheering i was relieved to see the back the knob that day......I also remember telling Southmoors Harry that day, we had enough in the tank to worry about relegation...sigh...

Just gave the ball away too cheap and couldnt tackle....

Wednesday must be mad......

Is Pericard contracted for 1 more year ?

OS says Prutton's contract with cancelled, so no nominal fee. Big saving on wages though.

Don't say that, I thought it was out this summer?

There is an option for one more year, but more likely the club will tell Pericard to do one...

What a terrible signing Prutton was. A disaster.

I have to admit i was excited by the signing of prutton at the time but he was a real let down and not the player i thought he was going to be. I expected an intelligent midfield ball winner type of player who would help to unlock defences and chip in with the odd goal but all we got was a headless chicken at the wrong end of his career adding nothing to the team whatsoever.

He really was a big disappointment at the end of the day.

Good to see the deadwood being released pericard next please.

Like others, the signing of Prutton last summer excited me and gave me real cause for optimism for the forthcoming season. However, having had to witness both Wilson and Hart pick him week in week out, having had to watch dire performance after dire performance and having seen poor decision by poor decision made by him, I can safely say he categorically failed to live up to expectations!

Good fucking riddance.

Guy who sits next to me has Prutton on his shirt - you didn't have O'Brien the season before did you?
