Must be.

Another game wasted.  The board are seriously making themselves accountable for our relegation to Lge 2.

Don't count of it, it just confirms to me they will stick with Danny until the end of the season

I think if you look at the timelines of what happened yesterday, a twice-postponed press conference, three players sent out one after the other to deny "rifts" and trot out the "we are all in it together" bullshit, and then Wilson (for the first time I can think of) being kept away from the press whilst jeremy wray took his turn to deny rifts and assure everyone that "we are all pulling together"...........
It all adds up to only one theme.........

1) The is a rift the size of the fucking Grand Canyon (which frampton and Rose pretty much confirmed, even though they tried to deny it)
2) Wilson is considered (at the moment) not the right person to tell the press that - most probably due to his out-of-character and incredibly petulant and confrontational interview on BBC Wilts after the Orient game - he is simply under too much pressure to be able to handle questions from the press
3) The board are obviously at odds with Wilson to keep him away from the press, he has never shirked his responsibilities to talk to the press before

and

4) We will be looking for a new manager tomorrow evening unless we stuff Colchester

Then again the Egyptians thought Mubabrak was going to resign last night......................before he started to speak

Pretty well summed up by Doctor Bamber however i still believe the board will stick with Danny until the end of the season because who would want to take over as manager with the mountain of shit they would have to clear up with certain players.

Whether their are rifts or not these players are paid professionals and should be doing their job at a professional level There is no excuse and any normal company would have fucked the disruptors out the door long ago.

I think the board have done their best to stick with Danny until the end of the season, but even the most hardened of intentions have a tipping point.

3 players involved, i might be well wide of the mark but wasn't there a big disruption at Leeds when Douglas, Prutton & Sheehan played there?  Could this be why Grayson didn't favour them?

Only an observation and probably wrong but it is coincidental though

I don't think Wilson has been given just 1 game but chances are he has been told in no uncertain terms there has to be an upturn in results otherwise he will pay the ultimate price, although saying that if we get battered tomorrow then that may bring decisions forward

Rightly or wrongly the Board have made their decision and I suspect they will definitely stick by it.

What we need now is the manager and players to pull their fingers out and the fans to get behind the team.  Constant speculation about Danny’s future will not do any good, we are in the shit and we all need to get behind the team.  Negativity towards the team isn’t going to get us out of this mess, support and encourage might just help in a little way.

A four hour meeting/bollocking with Mr Wray probably wasn't much fun. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for that! I guess it was an opportunity for the Board to demonstrate that they have given Danny every opportunity to sort things out. That said, it seems a very formal thing to do so maybe the Board have one eye on avoiding any employment tribunal /payoff if they do sack him?

Good shout. Public guillotining of failed managers is the way forward. And pitchside floggings instead of this namby-pamby two weeks wages fine for breaches of club discipline. It may not do much for morale but in "bums on seats" terms, it'd bring the crowds flocking back

FWIW I actually think that your guess (And that's all it is) will probably turn out to be correct: If Wilson stays we'll go down.

Not sure on your reasoning though, as I'm not privvy to the goings on behind the scenes.

You do come across as a bit of a twat though, I mean first he's lost the dressing room and now he's tactically inept.

Now if either (Or both) of these accusations are correct, how did we manage to achieve a top 6 finish last season, with Wilson's tactics and without the players throwing a moody and acting like childish, unprofessional wankers?

he has shown time and time again that he cant change a game when its not going our way. he plays people out of position all the time even though the fans have noticed this time and time again he still continues to tinker with the squad.

we achieved the top six finish because he kept the same team playing he hardly ever changed the starting line up. ferry who for some reason cant get a game right now was a massive part of our season last year.

Think everybody is a bit pissed off how we've gone from slightly misfiring but playing only a bit shit, to being nailed on relegation certainties, in a matter of 8 or so weeks.

Normally in a relegation season you can see it coming fairly early doors, and there's an obvious reason for it....like being in a league too high....financial meltdown...that sort of thing, but here none of the indicators are there, other than I suppose selling players in the window.

Erm, "it's" is correct as an elision of "it is". The possessive of it is "its", if that's what you meant.

ok then when we was playing hutchinson, obadeyi and revell we wasnt actually performing well, then we brought in ward and austin who became first team players week in week out.

But it's not though is it?

We start every game with 11 players. If DW hadn't of changed personnel last season, we would have 11 players starting every game. As it was, we had a mixture of 27 different players starting games. Therefore DW changed personnel.

It's quite easy to see when you look at it.

As I said, I'm not a grammar nazi and I barely read the forum. I've probably spent an hour on here, total, in the last week and not more than a couple of minutes of that would be reading the wisdom within the forum.

When it's something as fundamental as "we're" being spelt wrong though and it's repeatedly, teaching you can't be a bad thing, because it's simply better. :)

It's also, "couldn't care less" unless you're a yank in which case you're still wrong, although you might have grounds for acting like you're right.

Bugger. Good point. I'm having a mare this week. I'll console myself with some minor pedantry over typos in your post when it's perfectly clear what you mean :)

It's also, "couldn't care less" unless you're a yank in which case you're still wrong, although you might have grounds for acting like you're right.
you're a cunt......better?

Bringing this thread back to it's original purpose and away from Carbon White's grammar, isn't it a bit late in the day for this sort of meeting.  It should have happened a couple of weeks ago when we first got dragged down into the relegation places.

And FWIW I totally agree with Carbon White and also in relation to Berniman's point about the Board making themselves accountable if we get relegated.  The whole set up of Fitton and the Board has lost some of it's credibility this season over the way they've managed the whole transfer policy at the club.  That's coming back to haunt us, as will keeping Wilson in a job for longer than necessary.  We could be a further 3 points adrift at 5.00 pm tomorrow making any chance of survival that bit more difficult than it is already.

The longer he stays the more trouble it will cause. The players dont give a crap about dw they dont want to play for him. Were down if he stays here end of.

I still cant believe hes still here.
Bringing this thread back to Carbon's use of English, can we reserve special abuse for anyone who ends a sentence with "end of".

It's not, in any sense - grammatical, dialectical, rhetorical. Like "Fact", all it says is "I know what I think and I'm not open to argument." If it wasn't clear to you, that's why you wound people up.

Carry on.

I can't cope with Cider, I got absolutely slaughtered on the stuff when I was about 17 and can't go near the stuff, even the smell of apples in beverage form is too much.

My mates 10 year old cracked open a can of Apple Tango near me a week or so ago and I almost puked in his hair...

Either way, perfect way to top up after the train into B'ham!

This season reminds me of 1990/91 when we had a huge playoff hangover (in slightly different and more painful circumstances) but we ended up selling our best players (Alan Mac, Bodin), lost an influential captain (The Fridge's bad knee injury) yet showed some performances that reminded that the team could play (4-0 at City and 4-2 at the Manor). Yet we ended up struggling to stay up and had to grind out results. If I remember Hoddle didn't come in until end of March/April time.

This season isn't over yet, yes we are playing badly, but there is still points that can be picked up and we might suprise ourselves somewhere with a big win. I remember in 2002/3 under Kingy we lost 7 or 8 on the trot, looked doomed and Coppell said nothing could be done yet we started with a 2-2 draw with Colchester and started picking up points again. Let's not give up on staying up in February!

I can see your point on 90/91, but there is one crucial difference, that season because of reorganisation only 2 went down, had it been 4 we'd have gone, as happened in 94/95.

The threat of relegation did creep up that season, as we were happily mid table at a comparable time on a run of 2 defeats in 14. That season we signed Lorenzo a WC finalist who helped stabilise the defence, this season Flint from Alfreton Town  :)

To save this season will require a huge turnaround, for which there is no evidence of it happening....which is why my attention is turning to next season in L2.
