Title: Swindon Town VS Exeter City Official Matchday Thread
Post by: DUNSWORTHY on Saturday, January 29, 2011, 02:30:04
Thought as i have a spare few mins at work i would start this.
rather dementedly i have a sneaky feeling we will perform for a change

2-0 with goals coming from Ritchie and Amankwaah

I thought about starting one but then wasn't 100% sure what day it was so thought I'd leave it to somebody else.

Good work

I think this is one of those games that, maybe with the exception of a miracle, is really down to Exeter to come out and win it.

I suppose the pressure being off us a bit might work in our favour.

edit, miracle bit was worded wrong. Just that in our recent games - Tranmere, Rovers and Yeovil - it's seemed that it was our job to win it. With losing Charlie and our bad form leaving even the most hardened optomist having to accept that we're not only planted in a relegation fight, but we're setting down roots and in danger of growing bitter league two berries, it just seems like one of those games where it's the opposition who have to do the job.

I'm of the same opinion although 3-0 for me. Goals scored by JP, Ritchie and a screamer by Dougie! Maybe I should go to bed, I must be delirious.

Bloody hell.

Do you have a history of crazy delusions or is this a first?

e: I'm just teasing. Dougie is well overdue a goal though.

he lead me down the same path that Vinnie has. You naturally expect that if he comes from a footballing super power like Bocca Juniors, he'll be the tits. Ahh well, the reserves need south american wannabe maradona's from time to time.

Some players never seem to click though, there always seems to be a few that do ok but are always released. Recently I've thought Shefki Kuqi and Alan Lee have been like that. Ok they've not set the world alight but have never put in disgraceful performances.

I wish I could remember games like some of you seem to. I had a season ticket that year, and could only probably remember two results from the entire year.

Colin Todd managed so many of those signings which sounded awesome on paper but ended up being a bit shit. Marco Tuamela (or whatever) who'd played alongside Sami Hyypiä in the Finland squad. Former Danish-U21 Kim Heiselberg. Mark Robertson, that Australian midfielder I remember getting subbed off at half time in a league cup game (not sure why he sounded awesome, but I was youngish and impressionable at the time).

I'd include Antoine van der Linden in that list, but I actually remember him being pretty good.

Yeah and the midfield dynamo that was Stefani Miglioranzi (now plying his trade with David Beckham!). Who was that aussie fella? Had him on trial and snapped him up for a game by game deal. Scored one piledriver into the top bracket and then disappearead off the face of the earth.

You thinking of Royce Brownlie from a few seasons back or a Colin Todd signing? Not sure Todd signed any other Australians but my memory is fucked.

Bed time for me. I've ran out of wine and it's so late that BBC Four has stopped airing awesome documentaries about guitars and is now just a screen with some squares telling me to tune in tomorrow.

I hope that all you tefizens are on good behaviour tomorrow or I'm waking up with my ban stick out. ;)

Dougie had a few goes against Tranmere but unfortunately they provided evidence of why he's yet to score.

Yes, he even has won the award for being Denmarks most innovative pig farmer - crazy isn't it! I wrote an article about him for the Swindon site I ran before the one I run now. The owners of that fan site pulled out, and that site is now defunct. I might just have that article on backup somewhere though.

Royce Brownlie scored a screamer against Barnet, I think. Scissor kick, wasn't it? Not as good as Grazioli's against QPR though - or as the maestro scissor kick from Rory Fallon in front of the Town End some years ago - wow!

Todays prediction:

Heart: 2-1 (Pericard 2) Line-up (4-4-1-1): Lucas - Amankwaah, Misun, Framton, Jean-Francois - Caddis, Ferry, Douglas, Ritchie - Dossevi - Pericard

Head: 0-2 Line-up (4-5-1): Smith - Amankwaah, Cuthbert, Frampton, Jean-Francois - JP McGovern, Michael Timlin, Jonathan Douglas, David Prutton, Matt Ritchie - Vincent Pericard

Agree with this.  First game of the official relegation scrap, post-Austin phase of our season.  Players will be up for this...not least because I'm sure a few of them will be looking over their shoulders and wondering who will be coming in during the next 48 hours.

I don't do predictions.  But I'm hopeful.

Right, here we go again with no conviction whatsoever..

1-0 Austin Dossevi

Maybe he will be standing in the six yard box and the ball will hit him on the head/knee/arse/back and go in ::)

Today is the rest of the teams chance to show that they aren't a one man band, and actually a decent set of players.

I'd like to see Bodin given a chance if Pericard is out. The prospect of Dossevi up front alone in a 4-5-1 isn't worth thinking about.

Your head line up is probably closest call Norway.  Misun won't start as international clearance didn't come through in time for todays game.  If Pericard fails to recover then it'll be Dossevi as the lone striker.

Despite what's his name that used to play up front for us leaving, i thnk there is life after him and we'll sneak a win with a good team performance

I think today we will have an entertaining game. They will be comming here to win. I think the crowd will be up for it and Im looking forward to it.

Really want to see us keep them out. Thats how you build up confidence in a relegation scrap, keep yourself in the game for as long as possible.

My dream today would be that weve kept them out all game, the crowd have been really up for it and Dossevi slams one in the bottom corner from 8 yards out in the 89th minute and the place goes ballistic.

COME ON YOU REDS!

We'll either have a performance that's completely lifted by Austin's departure, everyone rallies round as a team and gives 100% and we win or we'll roll over with barely a whimper.  I honestly don't know what to expect this afternoon.

I'm guessing if it's the latter, there will be a fair amount of noise at the final whistle with people making their opinions known on how to spend the Austin cash!

Got an England call up on the back of it as well.

Lescinels got a good touch, a bit of skill and can pass, so bung him up top! Failing that he'd make a great defensive midfielder.

Today could shape the rest of the season.  We've not got enough points against the sides around us, and our talisman didn't score.  After his departure, this will dramatically effect the mood.  It's disappointing we haven't got a striker in straight away as I'm not confident with any of our forwards up front of ever scoring, and I'm not sure Wilson is either.  I'm surprised we didn't at least get an emergency loan - Wilson will have had his targets lined up for months.

I think the best option is to play Pericard up front on his own, with Richie and McGovern/Prutton supporting wide.  A 4-5-1 of sorts, but with a very attacking shape.  I'm still hopefully Pericard can kick on - perhaps the bricklayer's departure will be the catalyst.  Afterall, Rory Fallon didn't burst onto the scene until he was released from Sam Parkin's shadow...

I'd keep Dossevi in reserve, just in case we're short on stewards...

Scrape a 1-0 I reckon. Ritchie to score.

On a side note, I wonder who'll be taking penalties from now on?

I'm going for a 2-0 Town win today, with a much improved performance. Personally i think that even though we've lost our star man, this will improve the performance as there is no longer all of that uncertainty of will he, won't he within the squad. Whoever plays up top today, Pericard (if fit) or Dossevi has a massive chance now to really stake their claim for a regular starting spot. I won't pretend that either has been anywhere near good enough this season, because they haven't, but if they treat today as a new start, post Austin, one or both of them have a real chance to save their Town careers as there is now no star man, or recognised leading striker at the club. I just hope one of them takes the chance and bags a couple today! We all remember the Fjortoft situation, at the time we were all wondering 'who is this joker who the club has spent decent money on?', and to my knowledge he was only a week or two from leaving. One simple goal at Ipswich and the rest is history, legend!! I really believe that Doss has more to give, i just hope that it's today.

Can't go today unfortunately but I had the dream that Dougie capped off a scintilating team display with an absolute cannon. With the dross that I've seen this season, it's almost a certainty that we'll win because I wont be there to enjoy it.

There's the statement of intent. Plenty of attacking options with pace down the wings (even though Alan O'Brien should've been Ireland's first ever creditable sprinter) it's what we've been crying out for. Tough tackling midfield, mix of experience and youth at the back. Good things ahead.............I hope.

Hey Timms has been good since he came back from Southend. Not only has he got forward well but he also puts in a better tackle than Ferry. I think the key to this game will be in the middle of the park and if we win that battle with two battling midfielders, one who can spray passes about and the other who can press forward but still track back, we'll do well.

Bodin could well be used if Dossevi or O'Brien run out of steam near the end. I doubt many will stand up and shout "well done Mr. Wilson" if he bring him on for Dossevi or Ritchie after 60 minutes.

Before Austin's departure, there's been no need/justification to field Bodin.

No need to field him? If there is any need at this football club, it is that we try to field the attacking options that we have to plot a way to score goals, at least more than the opponent.

He has played for Wales U-21, so why the heck can't he be bothered to be given half an hour at home when we need a goal... I simply do not understand!

Can't be bothered? What are you on about? Making the Wales Under-21's squad is a lovely achievement but it's hardly justification to put him on.

I don't think one person has questioned Bodin's lack of first team minutes and it's probably because he's not ready. I stand by my original statement that since Austin has left Bodin has more importance in the squad but before that? Nope.

That's pretty fucking crap. If Tranmere and Yeovil can muster a point each from their games in hand we're then in the relegation zone.

2 failures to score at home against lower level sides is completely unacceptable. I know everyone's looking for positives but draws wont keep us up.

Sorry, but 0-0 at home to Exeter is not what Swindon should be about.

Danny Wilson OUT!

One substitution made during the game, and history repeats it self with our tactical genious, the northern irish man!

It was clearly he was looking for a point, and A point only! Without a shadow of a doubt.

Good night!

That's another reason why I want Wilson OUT!

Players on loan = young strikers from PL og CS. Permanent players = any ages, you can sign experienced strikers or pay for somebody you would like to get, now we can afford it.

This will happen: Come the emergency loan window we will loan a few inexperienced strikers like Obadeye, Ball or Ben Hutchinson. That will be the day, Danny!!

Just back....time for a defrost.

Thought Amankwah played well...also Obrien,Douglas coverd well.............not a bad performance and could be a vital point.

Got to say with all the good things Fitton has done for the club the situation on the strikers front is a joke...if no one comes in Monday i feel we are down.....he has known the situation for weeks about Austin....so he and Wilson should have made it a priority.

Good battling today and showed some balls........always happy with that whatever the result.

Good performance with the players finally showing a bit of team spirit. Really pleased for O'Brien, finally showed what he is capable of.

The front two were completely ineffective, this was Dossevi's big chance and I'm afraid to say he blew it. However inexperienced Bodin may be, he is a striker and should've got on for at least ten minutes.

Timlin had a shocker today. Got worse as the game went on. Really pisses me off seeing Ferry sat on the bench, whatever's going on with him and Wilson needs to get sorted asap.

Really losing patience with Wilson now. No more excuses, we need a striker signed and ready to start on Tuesday.

Similar to Tranmere, good performance but really, really needed even a lucky win. Just more so on both counts.

Alan O'Brien was tremendous today, and good lord I never thought I'd see myself type that. The good news is that out problems at the back seem to have straightened themselves out and Frampton looks the real deal. Now, get Ferry in the midfield ahead of Timlin and at least one, preferably two new strikers (don't have to be great, just decent and capable of actually shooting occasionally instead of passing) and we'll be fine this season.

That was one of the more enjoyable games this season.

The side had balance and shape and were very hard working. AOB, Ritchie and TD in particular. I'm not sure how we didn't score in the first half. We were comfortable as comfortable can be for 75  minutes.

Last 15 were a little more disjointed as tiredness took over (Mr Timlin...).

AOB MOM, yes it really did happen and yes he did deserve it.

The area we are lacking in is fairly obvious, but good effort Town.

There's been a few good over the years for sure. Danny Ward, Simon Ferry last season, Michael Carrick, Shay Given, Jimmy Davis (RIP) etc.

So nothing would please me more than to see I'm wrong in February, when Wilson or Fitton brings in a striker on loan who bags 10 in 15 and brings us into the safe haven of League One football next season as well!

I don't think we'll have a striker in by deadline day - Wilson seemed to be covering his back if you know what I mean giving it the usual bollocks.

Credit to the defence today. Another clean sheet will be great for their confidence.

Dossevi is hopeless and O'Brien put in a very good shift, his best in a Swindon shirt. A decent striker and we would have won that today, we are going down if he can't sign at least one forward. We need two in but I think we will have to settle for the one, if any.

The worry is that our last 3 home matches have been against sides down at the bottom of the league and we have come away with just 2 points, and scored 1 goal.

Now that would have been the day. What a great talent. Explosive too and can score from any angles. He's very unfinished but this might be his break-through season in Norway.

In a couple of years time I guess he will be playing in Bundesliga og Dutch Eeresdivison - where most of the young norwegian seems to end up. Why not League One as the first step?

The market in Norway is expensive though, but then again. Rosenborg sold Anthony Annan (who plays regular for Ghana) to Schalke 04 yesterday for only £2 million!

On current form I'd say Richie. I know he was out of position today but he's been particularly poor of late. Doesn't feel like £200k well spent.

I thought Ritchie had his best game since Charlton, although he wasn't outstanding today.

Alan (Forrest Gump) O'Brien was outstanding and his first half performance was almost Summerbee-esque. He faded in the second half and couldn't cross the ball like he did in the first half, but still worthy of man of the match.

The defence played well again but our midfield faded towards the end with some sloppy balls from Timlin and Doughie.

As for Dossevi, I think he's taken over from Pericard as my least favourite striker! He was sloppy, lazy and couldn't stay onside. His second half header from O'Brien's cross was an embarrassment.

Hopefully AF will release enough funds to bring in a quality striker or two. If we'd had one today we would have thrashed Exeter.

Technically there is no country of Northern Ireland, it's a province, within the UK.

Lots of Norse settled in Ireland and the north of England, you never know might be related to Wilson.

Sorry Reg, but not sure you are technically correct.

Very complex area but according to government definitions the UK is a country made up of four countries, including NI. "Province" has no legislative meaning.

Belting game. Well for a 0-0 and being at the wrong end of the table and considering also what a stop start season we are having. Agree with everyone that our Leggo international winger O'brien was MOTM. I can see Wilson now developing a youthful look to next seasons squad and was also interested in his comments after the match. He talked a lot of sense this time and I'm convinced he is the right man at the right club with the right BOD to support him. AIMHO.

Yeah I know it's been a frustrating and shitty season so far but he we over achieved last year so this one is probably the sort of season we may well have had last term rather than this if that makes sense.

The texters are retards.

Fitton out?!  Oh dear.  Some of our fans really are a little hard of understanding.

However, I think it is true to say that the next 48 hours are crucial.  If the players that we desperately need to rebuild the squad do not show up, I think I may start to question whether there truly is the desire at board level to build something here...as opposed to simply maintaining the club at its current level having saved it 3 years ago.  The crowd of approx 8,200 today was outstanding given our league position, current form and that the club we were playing was a relative minnow.  The fans have responded to the board's recent initiatives - so it would be tragic if next year the momentum had completely gone and we were back to 5,500 on a Saturday.  A waste.

Since Wembley, I've not heard as much from the board as I would have liked to.  The stadium plans may be well advanced - but the detail that (I think) was promised at the AGM has not been made public.  On the playing side, we've done it to death.  The 2010/11 season will be the one that never really was because we let key players go and did not adequately replace.  I suppose all I'm saying is that - in the past - I've been an ardent supporter and advocate of this board, and I wish to remain so.  But we really need to see some action, and a show of intent, in the next 2 days.  If we don't, I will start become a little nervous about whether they truly have the appetite to take us forward in the way we would all want.  I want Andrew Fitton to transform us in the same way that John Madejski transformed Reading.  Hope it happens.

Ujah will probably move to a bigger club in the summer transfer window if he has a good start of the season in Norway.

Lillestrøms manager Henning Berg has a history of getting young african talents. He bought John Obi Mikel for nothing and sold his for loads! Also Edu, now at Hoffenheim in Germany

In january both Petter Vaagan Moen (QPR) and Steffen Iversen (Crystal Palace) have gone to UK on free transfers. Due to the norwegian season, most players out of contracts is available from early november to late january, when the Norwegian Pre-Season starts...

Hartlepool took a chance on a Norwegian 2nd. division player last season, Jon Andre Fredriksen. Played a few games, then left them. So I guess it's a chance play to sign a player, but at least you can give some people a shot.

A couple of guys I know contacted Swindon in 1993 to ask for a trial. They both went over and trained with the club. Swindon were interested in the keeper on a youth contract, but due to school issues and economic issues the deal never went through.

Also I think norwegian former striker Jarle Wee was in Swindon on a trial in late 90s some time, but didn't impress.

From what i heard on the radio on the way home it sounds like we're talking to a couple players tomorrow but face stiff competition from other clubs.

AOB was easily MoM today and i though Ritchie worked his socks off too.  Whoever posted that Ferry needs to start over Timlin needs there eyesight tested, he played well today got a bit sloppy at end put a few tired legs out there.  Last game i saw Ferry play he was awful and in no way deserves to start with that performance. That goes for Prutton too.

The back four are starting to take some shape & Frampton seems to be really doing well organising us.  The team played imo opionion.  Dossevi really needs to learn the offside rule.

Am i the only one that didn't think Amankwaah was offside for our goal we scored? Looked like he came from behind his defender

I thought they all played well today except Tommy Dos!

Those slating Timlin and Ritchie are being well overly critical IMO! Timlin was solid and creative until the last 15 when he tired, better than Dougie today IMO. When Dougie loses the ball nobody says a thing, when Timlin does he gets hammered.

AOB was by far MOTM, what's the chances of seeing that consistently? Doubtful I expect! Desperately need 2 or 3 strikers in before Tuesday!

I don't follow any teams particularly in Norway, I just follow norwegian football and the norwegian league in general. Swindon Town is my main love when it comes to football. But I used to be a regular at my local team's matches: Raufoss.

Some years ago they were in the 2nd. tier and even were close to promotion. The last years they've been playing in 3rd. tier. A few years ago they moved from their old stadium to a inflatable plastic indoor hall with ariticifal grass. That was the drop for me. I won't pay to see football played INDOORS!

Also I moved from the Raufoss area to Lillehammer six years ago. The local team in this town is in the same 3rd tier as Raufoss, so I might go to the derby games. There is also a local team Gjøvik FF that is newly founded, who play in the 4th tier.

"I needed a new challenge, with a progressive club that had high ambitions and in Rotherham I've found the perfect club to open a new chapter of my career with. It was hard to leave Rochdale in the sense that I have left a lot of friends and the fans behind, but when a team with so much ambition like Rotherham comes in for you it is an opportunity you have got to take.

That was much better today. It was also a "team" performance. I thought all the players did OK today apart from Dosevi who really doesn't have either the intelligence or physical presence for the English game. I agree with AOB as MOM - in the first half he was excellent with a delivery to match. Ritchie should have buried the header that hit the bar as it was in the centre of the goal. The cross to Timlin was also excellent but his first touch was total bollox and his second even worse. In the 2nd half Exeter defender further up the field and we found it more difficult to create chances.
The defence looked pretty solid. At least I'm not in a total shit like i have been the last 3 home games where we were total gash.
Now for that striker or two. I also agree that we should have given Bodin a run.

Get a fucking grip you pricks.

It wasn't a perfect performance, however it was good and I was heartened by it.  Toothless up top but thats to be expected at the moment.  Hopefully it will be remedied come monday.

It felt to me like they'd had a weight lifted from their shoulders, almost as if a bad influence or something that wasn't good for the focus in the dressing room had been removed.

One thing to be remembered.  All season we have played well against good teams and lost against shit ones.  So 2 points against the lesser teams and 2 clean sheets is a damn good start.  I sincerely believe things are going to get better from here.

A far better all round team performance and we really should have come away with three points.  Exeter didn't really get a look in in the first half and we could easily have been 2-0 up come half-time largely due to the presence of Alan O'Brien.  That was a surprise wasn't it?

Unfortunately we were unable to break the deadlock and then as so often has happened this season, we didn't really push on as we should have in the second half.

The defence looks so much more organised with Frampton in there.  However, we have now bought 2 new CBs, so does that mean he will make way for one of them?

Dossevi was crap again and I really don't understand why he was left on the pitch for the full 90 minutes.  The whole being caught offside is truly wearing.  As others have mentioned, today would have been a perfect time to give Billy Bodin a bit of a run out, but for whatever reason Wilson doesn't seem to want to.  Why keep putting him on the bench if that's the case?  Also, Timlin should have come off and been replaced by Ferry, but again it didn't happen.  Quite honestly it did at one point look as if Wilson was happy to play for a 0-0 draw, which I find ludicrous.  If he thinks results like this are going to keep us in Leage 1, he's more clueless than I thought!

Prior to the game I heard Jeremy Wray on the radio effectively saying that we would have a striker/strikers in by Tuesday and felt reasonably positive about things.  However, Wilson's after match interview where he talked about being 'hopeful' and emergency loan signings has made me doubt this.  'Hopeful' is quite frankly not good enough.  I'm sick of the fannying around, we knew Austin was going and players should have been lined up to replace him immediately. We've got got a good chunk of money and if some of this is not spent on decent permanent signings, there is no doubt in my mind we will be playing League 2 football next season.  Fitton and Co will have a great deal to answer to!

Trying to get me banned as well with all the friggin Poole updates

Since you asked  ;):

A surprisingly comfortable win for Poole.

A well worked early goal that Preston got through a crowd of players.

The game then got a bit niggly with a series of cards, not helped by some dubious refereeing decisions. This resulted in a second yellow for Chris Smith from Xchurch - a soft sending off - mouthing off?

Then just before half time Dann Cann struck a great second goal for Poole. It was a comfortable first half for Poole who were rarely threatened.

The second half was all Poole. This was Poole close to their best - playing some really nice passing football. They did have the advantage of the extra player but this was still very encouraging.

The third goal came only 3 minutes in. Preston broke in to the box and was brought down. Bizarrely the ref only gave a yellow. Micky took an excellent penalty.

With the game (in theory) won, a series of subs gradually took place - Jeffes for Cann, Sturgess for Browning and Taz Roberts for Poore.

This did not affect the flow for Poole who continued to play good football. Chances kept coming.

Jeffes got his first for Poole - he tackled well to win the ball, then shot which got deflected in. Hopefully that will give him some confidence now.

Michael Walker got no 5 from a headed corner and then Preston wrapped the game up with no 6 - a great run and finish.

Xchurch seemed demoralised by the end.

I thought Micky Hubbard was exceptional today but the whole team played well.

Second clean sheet in a row.

Well done boys.

Absence from where exactly? I don't know what this means. Fitton or one of the other Directors is on the radio every week and they are always extremely up front and honest. There are also regular quotes from Fitton in the Adver. What do you want from them? You wonder about their commitment? Benefit of the doubt? What makes you think these things? Am I missing something? Help me out here ???

Think you're being incredibly harsh. We have no idea how much they've been upto, they could just have had a load of bids rejected for all we know. Wilson even explicitly mentioned today how much Fitton and Wray had been doing, citing the signing of what he called an 'exceptional talent' in Misun as an example.

However, I'm a bit monged out and simply can't be arsed.

I'm about half a page of mong short of going crazy with the ban nuke. ;)

It felt to me like they'd had a weight lifted from their shoulders, almost as if a bad influence or something that wasn't good for the focus in the dressing room had been removed.

There seemed to be a similar feeling in the stands as well. I enjoyed todays game more than I've enjoyed a match for a long time. I even thought the ref did ok.

Totally agree. I thuoght the fans got behind the team quite well. I was surprised by how many Exeter there were - good support for them. The ref was definitely one of the better ones.

I quite enjoyed that today, I'm feeling semi-confident that we can play our way out of this mess, a new Striker over the weekend and I've got a feeling that things will click once more.

Not sure about Amankwaah, he lost his man on too many occasions, but it was pleasing to see him bombing forward. Timlin looked good again, but seemed to want to self destruct towards the end with some wayward passing!

Timlin's performance showed to me why he won't ever be a regular here. Really good supporting Dougie for 65 mins, then played as if he'd never seen a football before for the next 25 mins.

she looked happy enough. She was sitting quite close to us for most of the match, but kept disappearing off into the lounge - presumably to warm up.
I am sure she was ready for the chants - she was smiling when she came back from the penalty taking bit. And plenty of people near us were yelling about tucking them in during the game and she didnt react at all.

I think Tisdale said to their players before the game 'hey lads, Swindon are 20th, if we want to be getting in the play offs we need 3 points today'. And instead of getting up for it, the Exeter players totally bottled it today. Exeter were shit. Special word to their fans as well who were fucking dire! 5/10 for numbers, 2/10 for actual vocal support.

They buckled under the pressure of being favourites to win away big time.

Weve dug in. Very positive. I always think clean sheets keep you up when perhaps you dont deserve it (2000/01 being the best example). We had a determined, commited and focussed performance today that kept us in with a shout of 3 points right up until the the FT whistle. Well done lads.

I think the development of the ground will be watered down. Theres too many fans saying they wont renew their season tickets even though they are dirt cheap.

What I think they will do is redevelop the ground to satisfy 3 criteria.

1) Get all 4 sides of the ground covered and get fans on all 4 sides of the ground every game.
2) Update the North stand facilities and put corporate boxes into the South stand.
3) Make the Town end into a modern stand with a steep pitch in order to get rid of the element who have refused to sit down and obey ground regulations.

What we did when we were in this situation a couple of years ago was that we stayed out of the bottom four for pretty much most of that time. Where we struggled 2 years ago is that we kept drawing games we should have won and then it was from chucking in late goals and took ages to get the wins in. This time I think we are going to struggle to score games but what is annoying is in the last two games we've missed the chance to get a couple of quick wins to give us some breathing space. Games in hand are less important at this end of the table, as teams by the nature of where they are in the league are not going to pick up many points in these (or not until the business end of the season where they pick up points in a last desperate effort to stay up)

i dont think we need to make excuses for Dossevi for that header. He is a professional footballer, and the look on his face running back towards halfway after missing that told you he knew he wasted a golden chance to make himself a hero, and that he looked more of a twat than ever at that point.
He can read the reports as well that have him as "well below average" in all the Sundays
He probably drove away from the ground listening to BBC WIlts with everyone texting in saying what a cunt he is and how we need a "proper" striker.

I think he is just trying too hard at the moment. That comedy moment when he knew he was coming back from an offside position, but just couldnt stop himself jumping to intercept the through pass that MIGHT have put Ritchie away on goal, told you a lot - he is a man under pressure to perform, and is trying so hard to. with frankly piss poor results.

Feel a bit sorry for him at the moment, despite the silly hairband. Trying to get his own game on track whilst stepping into charlies shoes, with the "inconsistent" service he gets, cant be easy - especially when you are playing for your very existence

Still remember Dougie's chance at Fulham as being the best one he's had. Jinked past a defender, then was 8 or 9 yards out with the ball crying out to be planted across Schwarzer into the far corner, but Dougie panicked before tamely poking it straight at the keeper.

Can't wait for him to break his duck. He's come pretty close on a number of occasions.
