Town target Misun

SWINDON Town could bring Celtic centre-back Milan Misun to the County Ground today to bolster their defensive options, the Swindon Advertiser understands.

Am I right in recalling the Celtic boys thought extremely highly of this lad? I obviously can't write an insightful post based on speculation and heresay, as I wouldn't know him if he kicked me in the teeth, but it warms me in a nice way.

Well, we have enough ex-Celtic players to hope that they would have a rough idea whether he was any good or not at least.

Nice one Milan
Nice one Misun
Nice one Milan
Let's have another one

I hope scores occasionally.

Ok this guy might have something about him, but he's another unpolished rock that we'll look to develop and sell on.

This team is crying out for someone with experience. Trying to solve that problem with young inexperienced players is not going to work.

According to Wiki -

On 15 December 2008, his agent, Ondřej Chovanec said he would move to Celtic. AC Milan[1] and Copenhagen[2] were also hoping to sign him but Celtic beat them to his signature.

So 3 years ago Champions League sides wanted to sign him and now he's on the verge of signing for a League 1 side? Bit of a fall from Grace for the lad!

Agreed... Fitton is wrong to persue the 'buying young for potential profit' policy in a relegation scrap. It's asking for trouble.

We do  need experience but its possible we can have that in other areas. I for one want Lucas back in goal as quick as possible to help the defence instead of Smith who is massively over rated!

Think the summer time is when you can pick your older players up like Dougie and Lucas, but we'll see.

Forward today please otherwise dont see tomorrow being much fun!!

Comment from my mate -

We signed him a couple of years ago and at the time it was a big deal as he was genuinely considered one of the best talents in europe.......but he hasnt lived up to his potential as much as we hoped, played a couple of times for the first team last season but was never going to break into the team so its a good move for him and the Robins I would say........he could be a good player for you if he wants to be......up to him really!

I can only think that we will get an experienced centre half in the loan market. Misun and Flint are still really young and inexperienced.

Maybe he will be a new Jesionkowski?

I thought it said Michael Mifsud first, but I was to quick... Let's give the boy a chance, but it's strange that Wilson signs two young centre halfes when he stressed the importancy of signing an experienced one at the back...

Building for the future, I presume! The future in League Two?`

I agree. I don't know where the Caddis hatred is coming from, because to me he looks like he's got a lot of ability and has been one of our better players at this very shitty moment in time. I've gotta get off this forum, it's completely and utterly doing my fucking head in.

To be fair, before Tranmere he'd had a decent run in the team, played in the last 8 or 9 games i think.

That's not to say I disagree with you on Caddis though - think he's a quality player.

Regarding the needing experience thing, I'm pretty sure DW has put all his eggs in Framptons basket on that. Frampton and Cuthbert first choice with two promising young lads behind seems alright. I'd rather someone better than Frampton but that's the way its going to be I reckon

If I thought Framps could stay fit I'd be happy with it. But I hear an injury flared up in training? Probably from that 'tackle' from Jennings on Tuesday night. He looked in a lot of pain initially.

Interesting if Frammo is out and LJF is fit whether he goes with Flint or Lecs alongside Cuthbert. I'm pretty excited about Flint, and at 6"6' the kid's an absolute monster

He's had a run in the team and all indications i've seen show he's not very good defensively, and not as good as Amankwaah going forward... just my opinion though.

I thought he was shit earlier in the season when he played in midfield.  Energetic and willing, but shit.  Another problem with playing him in midfield is that a midfield with him, Ritchie, Ferry and Douglas offers little in terms of strength or height.

I think he's a good footballer, but I'm not sure what he best position is.  Like Jack Smith before, I don't think he's a RB and I don't think he's a RW either...

He wasn't played right midfield earlier in the season, he's worth a run out in that position because defensively he is out of his depth but has shown potential going forward.

When I saw him play for Celtic he always looked decent bombing forward. I guess at Celtic you are playing in a good team so therefore unless you are absolute gash you will look decent.

Our team is hopeless and so he's being held back. I think in last season's side he would have shone. I would argue that he is better than Kev going forward but we have yet to see this too much as we have been defending more than we did towards the end of last season.

Yep.  He played right midfield against Dagenham away.  In a four man midfield with Ball, Ferry and Douglas.  Ball was on the left and was absolutely useless.  Caddis did OK though.  I suppose shit was an exaggeration.

Fair enough, fucking hell Dougie aside thats as light weight a midfield as we have ever fielded.

Have Celtic got any decent strikers that cannot get a game at present but would like regular games in the English League?  Surely with a club of their size they must have.  A replacement for Charlie Austin must be the first, second, third & fourth priority now

Have heard the rumour on the 'Football Rumours' site Nathan Tyson could be loaned to us. I asked around amongst my Forest supporting friends and the consensus was that this was highly unlikely.  He's not a regular in the Forest first team due to Billy Davies rotating the strikers that he has but has played & scored this season.  However a name that was floated as being a more likely candidate was Garner who they signed from Carlisle for a fat fee a couple of seasons ago & who's seldom considered for first team duty at the City Ground. I appreciate that, being ex-Carlisle & our experiences with Big Vince, he's unlikely to cause much enthusiasm amongst the Town End faithful but he was one of the reasons that John Ward's side made the play-off's back then. He's been on loan to Huddersfield earlier this season but didn't pull up too many trees there.  I just wonder if he'd be a possible?

Also the Matt Tubbs  of Crawley rumour - surely he'd have been scouted when he was at Salisbury and either discarded or trialled then?  Besides I loathe Evans - the man who puts the creepy into Crawley & I'd hate to give him either credit or money for Tubbs being signed for a fat fee.

Then there's O'Donovan at Coventry - he had a good loan spell at Hartlepool under DW but not featured for Adye Boothroyd's side very much since being signed so could he be another potential signing?

I don't doubt that DW is trying but it is becoming critical as the Transfer window closure date approaches. Has anyone heard any other rumours?

I'm puzzled too by the apparent absence of interest in Le Fondre.  He's scored consistently at Rotherham & before that at Stockport (I think). Is he a troubled character who'd be a problem?  Does he drink, gamble, do drugs or rodger schoolgirls? Given the interest in Charlie surely a club higher up the pyramid must have at least sounded out Rotherham about selling him?

Having said that, I've not seen him play so is he a small & nippy fox in the box type?

Yes, that's exactly what he is and at the end of the day he scores goals on a regular basis, season on season which would surely make all those other things (if he is doing them) irrelevant? So it is a strange one.

IMO, One of the most promising young defenders in europe. He can play at left back but is equally competent at Centre half. I cannot stress how much we are all pissed off at this but his agent has been stirring for a few months now
