"Now in Fiorentina I must make everyone understand my worth. I'm very ambitious and optimistic." This is nice to hear from a pro. I bet it applies to a lot of players, ie. Rooney. Players know they are going to be picked so put less effort in at training or whatever... I think it's down to the manager. They should want 110% comittment off all squad players. Rumour at the time was that Ross used to acquire the prize after every game & fill himself with curry on a regular basis. I was in there that night too, and funnily enough I was talking about those games today.If I recall correctly it was (and probably always will be) the longest league cup tie ever. The thing I remember most was swearing at the radio in the car after the first away game when they had the toss to decide the venue for the second replay & we lost meaning that we had to go back up to Bolton the following week.
