Title: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: DiscoDazR on Thursday, October 7, 2010, 10:32:57 Geez.......when he speaks to our local rag he wants to join us, when he speaks to the Pompey press he wants to join them! Can't keep everyone happy Matt!
2 year contract on the table for him to sign at Pompey by the look of it! http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Ritchie39s-future-is-bright-and.6569522.jp Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: Ardiles on Thursday, October 7, 2010, 10:48:01 To be fair, there's nothing in the earlier article (below) that contradicts this.
http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/8430834.Ritchie_hints_at_chance_of_permanent_switch/?ref=rss His first choice is a contract at Pompey. He's from Gosport, and Pompey play (for the moment) at a higher level. So who can blame him? However, if there was the offer of a permanent deal with us...he wouldn't turn it down. I can see exactly where he's coming from. Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: Barry Scott on Thursday, October 7, 2010, 11:08:21 As Ardiles says, he's a Pompey player and supporter. I find no surprise in anything he says or not. Turn the drama down a notch I reckon.
Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: Rustle on Thursday, October 7, 2010, 11:19:40 Nothing new really as you cant blame him for wanting to play for his boyhood club,He would always choose them over us if offered a contract. I hope our fans dont get on his back because of his comments today, but i guess im hoping for to much and I'm now expecting the adver board will now go into meltdown after his comments today.
It's great that he's here and would be even better if we could extend until at least the january transfer window. Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! I'm talking about the people who post on that site not the adver it's self. Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: leefer on Thursday, October 7, 2010, 17:50:21 Not hungry enough for me......get loan players here who want to prove there worth like Ward.....not players who are already on a juicy contract....hope he does well for us but got my doubts.
Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: Rich Pullen on Thursday, October 7, 2010, 17:52:19 If he has a good month(s) here he can sign a five year deal at Pompey for all I care.
He's here and he wants to play - let's not nit pick. Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: leefer on Thursday, October 7, 2010, 17:53:02 Agreed....................but he wont.

Didnt Danny Ward sign a new contract before he came here on loan? Didnt Simon Ferry sign a new contract before he came here on loan? Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! To be fair I doubt it will be a juicy contract Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: leefer on Thursday, October 7, 2010, 18:29:24 To be fair I doubt it will be a juicy contract Well he aint keen to get away...so it will be fairly juicy. Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: herthab on Friday, October 8, 2010, 05:16:12 It doesn't bother me one little bit that that he'd rather stay at Pompey, I'm sure if the question had been asked to Ward last season he would have said exactly the same about his parent club.
All I care about is how he performs while he's here and if he keeps his performances on the level he achieved against Torquay, he'll do for me (Tommy). Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Friday, October 8, 2010, 07:13:30 ward said numerous times he wanted to stay and prove himself at bolton.
Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: Power to people on Friday, October 8, 2010, 07:30:17 How is Ward doing at Coventry ?

Don't know if you were having a bad evening Leefer but this is a ridiculus comment. Were you at the Torquay game? it was only the Johnstones Paint trophy and he looked the most hungry player on our team, he looked very sharp, was constantly running and looks a real talent. There is not many examples of loanees in recent years that don't prefer there parent club, if he comes here works hard and plays well he will have more of a chance of making it at Portsmouth. It's a bold statement but I think he will go on to make a similar impact to what Ward did for us last season. Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! The word bold is up for discusion............nothing Ritchie has done has shown me he will benefit us. When he has rest assured i will be first to be saying well done....untill then. Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: jayohaitchenn on Friday, October 8, 2010, 15:20:48 Well he was pretty ace against Torquay. The through ball that put Ferry in was mint.

When he has rest assured i will be first to be saying well done....untill then. Well, he has played a whole 1 game so far. He's a left winger - before our only option was O'Brien. He's probably benefitted us just by turning up. Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: jb on Friday, October 8, 2010, 16:32:10 Definately what we need. Going to be a massive asset.
Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: leefer on Friday, October 8, 2010, 18:50:45 Well i hope so......but he is 21 now so not exactly a novice,,,decent record at Dagenham...ok at Notts County.....done ok for us in his four appearances(not one)...but i for one am not going to lie and say he exites me as a player because he dosn't....i have said that about plenty of players over the years and been wrong.
Being like Ward.....and Massive asset.......your hoping i am hoping..only time will tell. Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Well you give credit when it is due...played really well tonight...not really a great admirer of his but he ran his socks off tonight.....the custard is simmering....to be poured on the humble pie. Title: Re: Ritchie wants to stay at Pompey! Post by: land_of_bo on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, 12:43:05 Best player on the pitch by a country mile. Him and Rose were tearing Rovers apart at the start of the 2nd half.
