Title: Anyone got a good recipe for salmon?
Post by: sonicyouth on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, 22:02:21
Simple and easy please because I am simple.

I've only cooked salmon once before and that was in a pasta bake type thing, so I'm clueless  :)

Is it wild or farmed?

Best salmon I've ever had, was cooked by Sweatie fisherman, straight out the water, into a pot of left over cider and a load of veg bunged in.

Top work Dave. Failing that, sear it and whack enough Philly on it to kill a small child.

if its salmon fillet, pour a little soy, sweet chilli, lemon on top and a tiny dash of olive oil. wrap tightly in foil and bake for just over 15 minutes at 180. Beauty.

Slice a lemon and put on some foil, sit the salmon on the lemon. Squeeze over some lemon juice, salt and pepper and add a knob of butter. Wrap like a parcel with a handle so that the fish can steam, whack in the over for 15 minutes or so and when it's done you have the buttery lemon stuff for a sauce.

I only like salmon sandwhiches don't you know. But the tandoori was good on chicken.

A winner, thank you. No need to buy any ingredients :)

Salmon is extremely versatile, and IMO, delicious. I (well, my wife) has hundreds of Salmon recipes. I'll post a couple on here for future reference later.

Sprinkle some herbs and lemon juice over it then wrap in greaseproof paper (use sellotape to stick the paper together). Put into a pan of water and bring to the boil. Turn off the heat after the water's boiled for about 5 mins and leave covered for a further 15mins in the pan. Then serve. Plain and simple  :)

Brilliant. Served it with some egg noodles drizzled in the marinade and it was really nice, will definitely keep the recipe handy - thanks :)
