Title: Get a piece of this cuntishness...
Post by: Nijholts Nuts on Sunday, June 27, 2010, 11:08:28
I was just out on my bicycle for a leisurely ride around the country, when the inevitable struck... slow puncture. Luckily I remembered that in the next village there was a bicycle shop, so pushed on hoping that the shop keeper/owner would have a shred of decency and lend me a bicycle pump so I could limp home on semi inflated tyre. Well, I got there only to be told that he'd sell me a pump but the cunt wouldnt lend one to me, despite being approx 8 miles away from home, he said 'I dont make money of lending tools, but I will sell you one'.

Thanks for nothing you absolute bag of shit, thanks to you thats a second tyre shredded in as many outings...some people!

I used to get loads of punctures, so I got some super strong tyres and also thick inner tubes and never had a puncture after that.
I know that's not the point of the thread and I feel your pain.
Perhaps you should've offered something in return.

"I'll give you a handjob if you fix my puncture"

I can see his point.Would you have gone back there to buy a new tyre or puncture repair kit?

Nah you'd have nipped to Halfords.

Name and shame the shop here and I'll post it up as one to avoid on Bikeradar cycling forum.

Local bike shops are always moaning at people to use them instead of the big chains like Halfords, but behaving like a wanker to someone who was in trouble and miles from home doesn't do their cause much good.

"I'll give you a handjob if you fix my puncture"

Surley a blow job would be more appropriate.

The cunt in question was a shop called Hasnips in a village called Wickham Market in Suffolk.

Yeo...The fact that I was in the middle of no where and the nearest Halfords was a good 30-40 miles away means that I couldnt have just nipped to Halfords even if I wanted to. I went there yesterday in fact to pick up mentioned new tyre and they were excellent and very helpful. Im all for helping out the little guys, but surely if they want to be cunts for no particular reason then people will take their business elsewhere.

I Can't see what your moaning about? I would have bought a pump, as should you have, you obviously need(ed) one.

I've got to be honest, I thought the same as Sutton.

The shopkeeper is trying to make a living, not be a good samaritan, and why did you cycle 8 miles away from home without a pump?

Again, not entirely related to the point of your thread but I was having real difficulty with punctures so I bought a pair of Schwalbe Marathon Plus and so far nothing..

I used to get loads of punctures. Stopped riding my bijke and haven't had one since

Serves you right really, if your going on a long bike ride you should be 'tooled up', so to speak

That is old Mr Chesterman I think.  Notice he had a sign in the window stating STOLEN with some writing underneath.  Perhaps the one tatty bike has found a new owner!!!

You had no intention of ever giving him any business, so why should he help you?

Why didn't you buy the new tyre from him rather than Halfords?

Why didn't you buy the new tyre from him rather than Halfords?

Probably because he wouldn't lend the pump, so didn't want to give him any additional money?

Wouldn't it have been easier to get a new tyre from the village bike shop or didn't they do them?

In Cirencester us kids had Nelson Keene. a retired gent operating from his front garden.

You could turn your racer wheels square bumping up and down curbs, squash the frame to a two inch cube and he would still only charge you 30p to put it all right.

Sad day when Nelson died. He was the type that would lend you a pump.
