Yes. There's a different forum for that. Google Swindon active service. Just don't post a thread saying you're doing a project and want some info. They won't like it.

Search Google is my suggestion, had to do a project on football and hooliganism a while back for college and found shed loads on it with about 2/3 weeks worth of study. Was a waste as I left the course just before it had to be handed in. I'll see if I can find any of the info at home, then upload it or as its printed pass it on, on a match day?

The most recent incidents to make it into local news have been the Cardiff pre-season friendly and Southampton away. A google search will lead you to the relevant articles. Although neither goes into great detail.

Yeah I saw a bit of the action that day. Was in town with my parents and gf and saw the Swindon boys marching towards Cardiff who were in Sir Dans. It was obvious something was going to happen. The police did get between them but a few chairs went flying.

Yeah I knew more happened later.

This was about an 45 mins maybe even an hour before kick off.

Have they all been sentenced yet? Last I heard the case kept getting delayed and they're all banned in the meantime.

Have a look at the Inn on the Green Incident when we played Bristol Rovers away, I was there and that was NOT pretty.

And there was the fighting in the CG and by Regent Circus at the Home game before that. And revenge for Town at the Home game after...

Always happens this time of the season. Everyone comes out for one last go. Plus people will always want to lash out if they've just been relegated, or if they've missed out on promotion/play-offs.

Still can't believe those 30-odd Brentford in the Shrivvy Rd yesterday. Completely unopposed they were, bowling around like they owned the place. They should've tried it on round by the hotel, or towards the station. Will that be the start of a bit of a rivalry?

I doubt it, back in 81, we played them last game of the season needing a point to stay up.

They had a crew of about 20 lads who thought they'd go on the Shrivenham Road terrace up by the TE, where there was a fence....little did they know that a group of Town lads, had vacated the TE, and were waiting for them, they got a good kicking all along the terrace.  Well funny.

Never been too much of a problem with Brentford, who are generally a decent bunch.

It was all handbags. I was right by it and never felt remotely in any trouble. If they had gone for it they would have got a shoeing. Most of the people by me were looking on with amusement. Nobody seemed concerned.

Haha like it. Yeh I've been there loads of times & it's always been a good crack with never a hint of trouble. That's why I asked really.

Yeh we were there too - I didn't mean that to sound like there was actual trouble, but they charged a couple of times and no-one did anything (apart from 4 or 5 that ran from them). I looked & we didn't really have any lads around at the time - like I said they were bowling around unopposed, but if they did it by the hotel etc they would've been dealt with.

If this was the 70s / 80s it wouldn't have got a mention. The reason they were unopposed is where they did it. Like a lot of other people I had my daughter with me and I wasn't going to respond as I didn't feel threatened. If I did feel threatened (and probably the same for a lot of others as well ) then its a much a different ball game.

That's because they did !

A few swindon "lads" ran at them, and the Brentford went "boo !!!"

Our so called boys shat themselves !

That's what I said! Twice! It fucking would've got a mention because if it was the 70's/80's they would've got an instant response. None of this "I didn't feel threatened", it would've been "come on, they've charged at Town fans TWICE, let's have the cunts." Charging at people is fighting talk in anyone's language for fuck's sake. Like Fred said - we stepped aside and let them own the place for a few minutes.

Those situations can happen at most grounds.. I've seen Swindon fans doing something similar at away games over the years. Bournemouth and Gillingham springs to mind in recent years.

You're obviously going to get incidents like that, but you were a hell of a lot luckier if you got away with it in those days. It's all about the timing.
