Title: So... Post by: Reg Smeeton on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 11:05:26 ...with with the 2 new boys padding out the squad a bit, how do you think Wilson will play it?
Assuming these fellas are better than what we've already got, do we go straight to 4-4-2 on Saturday for a home game? Should we stick to one up front and just use Hutchinson to give BP a rest? Will Cuthbert stay in the side instead of Morrison? Will Ferry mean Timlin loses his place? Is this the first time I've ever started a thread about players and formations? Title: Re: So... Post by: Nomoreheroes on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 11:15:18 From what was said the other night it appears that Easton is pushing Timlin too!
Morrison had an injury at the weekend, so Cuthbert might stay. Obladi-Oblada's loan is up soon so he must be at risk of his place. Basically, I dont know! Title: Re: So... Post by: BANGKOK RED on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 11:21:46 Hutchinson sounds too similar a player to Billy for me, time will tell..
Title: Re: So... Post by: Barry Scott on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 12:23:24 I think we'll play 4-5-1, probably with the new striker on the right wing... In all seriousness it looks like Wilson likes that formation, so with or without new strikers, and basing this on the effect of signing the Bolton lad, he will play 4-5-1.
Title: Re: So... Post by: Ralphy on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 12:33:05 I'm still unsure about Lescial JF. I reckon we need a left back.
Title: Re: So... Post by: Stef Troll on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 12:56:17 We should try and play morrison simply due to his amazing throw in abilities.
Against Saints his throwins nearly got us 2 goals Title: Re: So... Post by: reeves4england on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 13:17:00 I have no idea how he's going to play it. He may decide Paynter needs a rest, and thus stick with 4-5-1 leaving Billy on the bench. If we were to go 4-4-2, he'd either have to play JPM on the right wing or drop him to the bench. I don't really want to see him out wide, but Ferry and Douglas in the middle would surely be the first choice pairing?
Title: Re: So... Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 13:18:27 I prefer to call it a 4-3-3. play hutchinson macnamee paynter as the front 3 and continually swap them about, a bit like tuesday.
Title: Re: So... Post by: Bob's Orange on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 13:18:58 I can't wait to see Ferry crossing.

David Byrne might call it a 4-three and two halves-one and two halvesTitle: Re: So... Post by: DV on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 13:40:32 What with JPM confirming a place as a central midfielder if we did go 4-4-2 we'd be without a right winger. Unless Wilson did the whole Kevin Amankwaah think again, which he better not!! I guess he could play Macca or O'Brien but both are lefties.
Lucas, Amankwaah, Greer, Morrison/Cuthbert, Kennedy, O'Brien, Douglas, JPM, McNamee, Paynter, Hutchinson - maybe? Title: Re: So... Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 13:45:28 Im tempted to stick with the 4-3-3, the team are really starting to gell. I would play cuthbert at the back with Greer. Douglas just in front with JPM and Easton pushing on. You have to start Paynter so the question is what other two? I would go for macnamee and O Brien, but have them all interchanging. Gives us a really strong bench , tope, timlin, morrison, ferry, hutchinson, Kennedy/lescinel, and smith.
we are starting to have options :) Title: Re: So... Post by: The Artist Billy Paynter on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 13:53:14 I can't wait to see Ferry crossing. :D Title: Re: So... Not a problem, Macca and HRK were both lefties last season and worked well, they just kept swapping throughout the game. Title: Re: So... Title: Re: So... Post by: Samdy Gray on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 15:46:53 I'll hazard a guess at 10 outfield players and a goalkeeper.

Title: Re: So... Post by: leefer on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 16:30:46 I can't wait to see Ferry crossing. Quality!...Easton played well so could get the nod over Timlin....hope Obriens fit cos i think if he had played the full ninety v Wolves we couldve snatched a win......the two new lads will start on the bench..wouldnt mind seeing how Cuthbert plays at left back if Morrisons fit...but Lescinal seems to be in favour with DW if not all of us watching him. Cuthbert looked much better in the centre than at right back. Does he even play on the left? It does seem a shame to leave Morrison out of the side though...Title: Re: So... Post by: leefer on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 16:42:25 He wont be left out....think Cuthbert could play anyware in defence...his distribution v Wolves was impresive also...hope he stays fit cos he looked really good.
Title: Re: So... Post by: Kinky Tom on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 22:07:41 I'd stick with the current formation, if LJF is still out keep Kennedy in there, probably bring back Timlin and maybe drop Tope for one of Macklin and O'Brien.
This formation has got the best out of JP and a change would be detrimental for me, he's a player we need on form because he's actually rather good when he gives a shit. Looking forward to seeing these two loanees at some point too. I think our squad's pretty much there now, there's not one player (save from casal) that I don't have confidence in really, very happy at the moment with things. Tope needs to do more for the team mind. Title: Re: So... Post by: carbonwhite on Friday, August 28, 2009, 00:41:45 i heard cuthbert played upfront in reserve games at celtic
