Title: Motorbikes Post by: Gazza's Fat Mate on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 11:53:33 Anyone else on here ride motorbikes?
Just passed my test and was wondering if anyone new of any good places to go? Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: LucienSanchez on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 11:56:37 How was the new style test? I fancy doing it when i'm unemployed in a couple of months time and have some spare time and money to get it over and done with intensively.
Can't help with your question though! Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: Gazza's Fat Mate on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 12:02:29 All a lot of media hype! The swevre test is easy as piss and really fun to do. As long as you have a good treachetr should be fine!
Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: Samdy Gray on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 12:30:25 What do you mean by places to go? Good roads?
The best biking road in England is generally thought to be the A537 from Buxton to Macclesfield. It's where the famous Cat and Fiddle in is, a regular biker hang-out. Plenty of coppers about there these days though and also plenty of dickheads who think they're the next Valentino Rossi who'll quite happily take you out on a blind bend. Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: suttonred on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 12:47:50 All motorcyclists should be directed to beachy head, well 99%, there's about 1% who realise the speed limit applies to all road users.
Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: Rich Pullen on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 12:54:22 A sweeping statement dear Sutton.
Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: Samdy Gray on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 12:56:06 All motorcyclists should be directed to beachy head, well 99%, there's about 1% who realise the speed limit applies to all road users. Actually, it's more like 1% are idiots who spoil the reputation of bikers for the other 99%. Again, I refer to my previous comment of the dickheads who think they can jump on a bike and immediately become some kind of riding god. Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: Arriba on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 12:59:56 i'd say 50/50 in regard to dickheads on bikes.
Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: suttonred on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 13:01:23 A sweeping statement dear Sutton. Well living up here, for every motorcyclist that observes a 40mph, there are 99 who clearly think 40 actually means 70. There has been 2 killed directly outside my house this year, both due to excessive speeding. That advert about watching for them carefully makes me laugh, if they were sensible you would be able to see them. I had one undertake me on the M3 a couple of weeks back, i was doing 80 and was coming back into the middle, how i missed him i have no idea, so i stand by that statement. I can see your point and almost completely agree with all you say, but isn't the speed limit 70 mph and not 80mph? Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 13:27:47 Im happy my other half doesnt ride on the road any more - he only keeps a track bike now and does track days and has got more into enduro stuff

So when you break the speedlimt that's okay bike does it that's bad! knob. I dont as a rule, but when you have miss daisy's myopic sister pull into the middle doing 40, sometimes you need to get round quick. Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: suttonred on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 15:01:33 So when you break the speedlimt that's okay bike does it that's bad! knob. You've got the gall to call someone a knob, really, you? Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: Talk Talk on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 15:21:09 Car drivers are just as bad. What he said. Don't be such a knob Sutton. Sam's right, it's the 95%/5% sensible/stupid split that applies to everything. Don't get me started on that one again though as Fred will go berserk. Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: Arriba on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 15:45:06 car drivers are just as bad.but 2 wrongs dont make a right.

Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 17:37:21 If you like bikes then the TT in June on the Isle of Man is the place to be.

Cassington. A village on the A40, between Witney and oxford. Last Monday in June. On a pleasent summer day you have to be there before 18.00 to get some decent parking. It's a great evening out. Avebury every Wednesday but take it easy as the law is everywere. Be safe Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: Samdy Gray on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 17:58:28 If you like bikes then the TT in June on the Isle of Man is the place to be. Was planning on it next year, until the missus got up the duff. Definitely need to get out there before McGuiness calls it a day. Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: ronnie21 on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 18:40:36 Was planning on it next year, until the missus got up the duff. Any ideas how that happened?Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 19:04:31 McGuiness was on fire this year, absolutely hair raising stuff. Very unlucky in the senior.
Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: Bogus Dave on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 19:06:06 I'd question the mindset of someone who's idea with fun is to get dressed up in leathers with men with facial hair
Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: BANGKOK RED on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 19:06:50 Don't get me started.
OK, I'll start a little bit........ The Thai authorities, in all of their worldly wisdom (Yes, that is sarcasm) have decided that the person with the largest vehicle must recompense the one with the smallest. Which basically means that a very sober, licenced and taxed Mr. BR could hit a very drunk other person riding a motorbike, without any licence or insurance whilst very very drunk on the wrong side of the road at night without lights. Yet it is still the car drivers fault....... REGARDLESS............ I could go on, but it is about 20 past bedtime for me. Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: donkey on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 19:42:10 But BR, that's just another reason to go to work on a Tuk Tuk.
Title: Re: Motorbikes Post by: Spencer_White on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 20:02:23 I've got a motor bike licence :) grandad licenses! |
