Title: Men With Forks On Match Days...
Post by: Chris_Maidstone_STFC on Monday, June 15, 2009, 15:26:07
Have you ever noticed that on matchdays, at half time, you get a group of people with garden forks pointlessly bashing the pitch every few yards. What are they actually for...?
 :eatkf:
(he has a fork...)

They fix the bits that have been scuffed up to try to limit damage to the pitch.

Saw one guy last season actually break his fork whilst tending to the pitch at halftime.

He obviously put too much weight on it and it snapped in a real comedy manner....almost causing the poor fella to headbutt the ground.

....and there was me thinking I was the only one who saw it!

Who needs the Robinettes when you can have men breaking forks.

And I'm sure you can find a pun hidden somewhere in that statement Neville, cos it does sound kinda odd.

Anyone remember the Moonraker at Wembley waving his pitchfork about?

Presumably it was a rake not a pitchfork, otherwise we'd be the Pitchforkers.
