Title: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: swindonbob on Monday, April 27, 2009, 06:45:45 League One team:
Joe Murphy (Scunthorpe), Neal Eardley (Oldham), Jack Hobbs (Leicester), Sean O'Hanlon, Dean Lewington (both Franchise), Fabian Delph (Leeds), Matt Oakley (Leicester), Chris Taylor (Oldham), George Boyd (Peterborough), Rickie Lambert (Bristol Rovers), Matt Fryatt (Leicester). I guess scoring 30 goals for a struggling League one club isn't enough to squeeze into the team these days. Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: lambourn red on Monday, April 27, 2009, 06:55:19 I think this is voted for by all the other players in League 1 so we can not blame the FA or FL.
Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Monday, April 27, 2009, 07:01:22 cox is different class to lambert and fryatt
Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Danjackson10 on Monday, April 27, 2009, 07:05:02 surely scoring regularly for a struggling team makes you a better striker? bizaree
Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Nemo on Monday, April 27, 2009, 07:10:14 No Pilkington either, and Sean O'Hanlon is just there for a laugh surely?
Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Summerof69 on Monday, April 27, 2009, 08:25:22 Lambert played like a big fat lump on Saturday. Kuffour was much better than him.
Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Bedford Red on Monday, April 27, 2009, 16:50:46 No Pilkington either, and Sean O'Hanlon is just there for a laugh surely? I've got a friend who supports Franchise (sorry about that!), and he says "O'Hanlon has been immense this season". Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: herthab on Monday, April 27, 2009, 16:55:10 o'hanlon's a useless cunt
Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Nemo on Monday, April 27, 2009, 17:01:02 I've got a friend who supports Franchise (sorry about that!), and he says "O'Hanlon has been immense this season". Not against us he wasn't :D Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: reeves4england on Monday, April 27, 2009, 17:01:51 I've got a friend who supports Franchise (sorry about that!), and he says "O'Hanlon has been immense this season". Was he there when we played them? He crafted a delightful little knock down for our first goal!Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: DMR on Monday, April 27, 2009, 17:03:02 cox is different class to lambert and fryatt I agree... they're both better. Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Reg Smeeton on Monday, April 27, 2009, 17:09:14 I agree... they're both better. Now Cox has done his job and is a goner...it's safe to say he's actually a bit shit. Face it 33% of his goals came in 3 games and of the rest about 30% were pens. Without Patnter to do his work, he'll struggle elsewhere :) Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Nemo on Monday, April 27, 2009, 17:21:43 For goodness sakes, you two could spin a cure for cancer into being a negative.
Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, April 27, 2009, 18:04:13 For goodness sakes, you two could spin a cure for cancer into being a negative. Hahahaha, quite. These votes are done in February when Fryatt and Lambert were top of the pops. Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: leefer on Monday, April 27, 2009, 18:35:23 Craig Mackail Smith would have been in my side...ahead of Fryatt.
Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: michael on Monday, April 27, 2009, 18:39:43 That list is a veritable Who's-Who of players that get dog's abuse from the Town faithful.
Taaaaaylor. Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, April 27, 2009, 18:56:07 Also, did we not put 7 past that goalkeeper? :)
Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: 4D on Monday, April 27, 2009, 19:03:56 That list is a veritable Who's-Who of players that get dog's abuse from the Town faithful. Taaaaaylor. Good player, but it's not often you see the effect of a crowd put to good use to get a player subbed. I remember a game at home quite a few years ago when we were playing Watford (or some other team). They had a young defender who Chalky was really winding up. I think he lost the plot when Chalky showed him a polite hand gesture whilst facing the Town End :D ; I think he ended up getting subbed. Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: leefer on Monday, April 27, 2009, 19:06:33 Beckford has gota be a bit pissed off also...hes missed alot of games also.
Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, April 27, 2009, 19:08:58 ...and quite arrogant. I doubt that goes down with PFA members.
Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: leefer on Monday, April 27, 2009, 19:11:35 True Rich...but most quality players are...most away fans think Cox is arrogant.
Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, April 27, 2009, 19:13:16 True Rich...but most quality players are...most away fans think Cox is arrogant. Cox doesn't get sent off for proverbially throwing his toys out of his pram though :) Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: leefer on Monday, April 27, 2009, 19:14:30 Agreed....am suprised he didnt make it though.
Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: michael on Monday, April 27, 2009, 19:16:50 We were interested in signing Beckford before Leeds bought him.
Very good player. Surprisingly he is mid 20s. I thought he was younger than that. Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, April 27, 2009, 19:55:27 Surprisingly he is mid 20s. I thought he was younger than that. Possibly why the big leagues haven't placed a bid that would suit Leeds' probable asking price? 0 goals in 10 Championship appearances in his career thus far. Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: reeves4england on Monday, April 27, 2009, 20:08:34 Good player, but it's not often you see the effect of a crowd put to good use to get a player subbed. There was also the tea towel incident, was that when we beat Yeovil 4-2? I'm pretty sure his outburst which got him the red card was largely due to the abuse he got from the Town EndTitle: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: DV on Monday, April 27, 2009, 21:11:22 I agree... they're both better. that genuinly made me laugh out loud. Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Batch on Monday, April 27, 2009, 21:21:27 Best toy throwing was definitely Deane Gorre when he wsa playing for 'uddersfield. Sadly referee rather than fan induced.
Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: 4D on Monday, April 27, 2009, 21:31:27 I like it when players get really upset - it shows their passion....John Aldridge springs to mind when we were beating Tranmere in the play off game at home. I was at the game but saw the highlights afterwards....not a happy chappy (especially when his header was disallowed).

I was at the game but saw the highlights afterwards....not a happy chappy (especially when his header was disallowed). It looked a perfectly good header as well. In that game who was the tranmere defender who scored the OG, made a hash of a clearence for the second goal and played Mitchell/Maskell onside for the third. He was a legend! Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, 07:48:53 sodje was tea towel for yeovil, thats the most i have seen a crowd get to a player, town end was relentless that day, until it led to him smacking fallon and getting sent off to a chorus of "youre never wear it again"

The legendary Steve Vickers.Everything that could go wrong for him went wrong,in that 1st leg play off semi final. That's the fella!! Love watching those games on video - especially the goals in front of the stratton bank which goes mental each time Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Summerof69 on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, 08:26:45 Best toy throwing was definitely Deane Gorre when he wsa playing for 'uddersfield. Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Phil_S on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, 08:34:49 The best sending off....EVER !!! Saying that it wasn't as if the referee didn't warn him ... Not quite, that status must surely be given to one Joey Beauchump, when he threw a tantrum & got sent off. Forget the exact season (95?), but it will be forever be my fav sending off. Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Matchworn Shirts on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, 10:33:35 Sills for Hereford in the promotion season, just come on argues with the ref and gets himself booked, our fans sing "who are ya", he points to the name on his shirt and gets sent off - Quality.

I'm pretty sure he gave away the ball at Prenton Park in the 2nd Leg allowing us to break and get the 2nd goal which got us through to the final, if that is the case then he helped us with 4 out of the 5 goals. Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: donkey on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, 21:21:01 The legendary Steve Vickers.Everything that could go wrong for him went wrong,in that 1st leg play off semi final. Should my mate win Stand Buy Me, there is a very real chance that the Bank could be called the Steve Vickers Stand. Title: Re: PFA League One Team of the Year Post by: Summerof69 on Thursday, April 30, 2009, 08:29:52 Steve Vickers!! That brings up great memories, along with John Aldrige's face when he gets a goal disallowed for 'pushing' in front of the Town end.
