Title: Timlin suspended
Post by: chrisser on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 16:18:47
Picked up his 10th yellow card of the season at Brighton and will miss the next 2 matches according to this link: http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/Disciplinary/SuspensionLists/PlayersAwaitingSuspension.aspx

Still, not all bad as Carlisle are missing Kavanagh too.

Cox is on 9 yellows, so hope he behaves himself for the next couple of matches

New Cox must be close, we'd better get that win saturday then! Otherwise we'll be playing 4-5-1 at Home to rovers.

Cox missed the Rovers away game so would be just our luck for him to miss the home game too.

It will be quite sad if he picks up a booking at Carlisle in what could be his last game if he was punished.

What happened to the yellows being canceled after a certain date?

To be honest, Timlin could do with a break. He has been very predicatable and square the last few weeks (admittedly I didnt go to Brighton).

But another Cox yellow card would be a hammer blow. Wilson must tell him to keep his mouth shut around referees, because that always seems his most likely way into the book!

Blimey, that is a concern that Cox could be suspended and we still need the points - I'd be extrememly scared if he wasn't palying as we rely on him for goals obviously.

I'd quite like to see Easton given a game alongside OTJ

Me too, but he hasn't played much lately so I can't see it.

from the bbc. the deadline was sunday. so that means that cox will avoid suspension if booked on saturday i believe

Timlin has been dire at times.........didnt see him at Brighton but thought he was very good v Orient and tried to do the simple thing.

Losing Cox would be a blow but i reckon 2/3rds of him is already in the stands waiting for the big move.

I reckon Razak will save us!!!

He was okay at Brighton, didn't really stand out as good or bad, then again it's hard to tell anything there.

Me too, but he hasn't played much lately so I can't see it.

He'll come in on Saturday, having played a couple of games for the reserves and making the bench on Monday.

I think OTJ and Easton would compliment each other pretty well, but then again it could quite easily go the other way.

Eastons playing for his future so he'll be up for it I hope...

I'll be very disappointed if its not Easto-apart from Timmy,he's the nearest thing we've got to a decent centre-mid in the entire squad

I hope it's Easton who plays - he was genuinely decent for us last season but it hasn't happened for whatever reason during this campaign.

I think wilson is going to fall for one of the classic STFC management errors of teh past few seasons - thinking that JPM should be good in central midfield.  He isnt.

Good. Now perhaps we can see some players who can actually pass a ball to one of their team mates playing for us for a change

as opposed to Timlin who gives it away every single time....

Easton is the obvious choice. He's playing for a new contract as well so good chance for him.

Not a regular this season then?

Kanyuke must be close to a return also playing for a contract

whilst timmy does keep the ball the majority of the time, it frustrates me that he often knocks the sideways rather than a defence splitting pass or travelling 20 yards before making that sideways pass....guess ray 'the crab' wilkins made a career out of it tho so I'll shut up...ok, the only request that we buy a midfielder that can accompany timmy please

That's a good observation DRS - was it Wilson or Malpas who first put him in CM ?

Wilson. Malpas just didn't have a brain that funtioned if a defender wasn't in defence.

Wilson. Malpas just didn't have a brain that funtioned if a defender wasn't in defence.

But wasn't we desperately short of options then ?

I can't see Kanuka and OTJ being a good partnership though

Easton all the way. Pat has to be one of the ones on his way doesn't he.

This is true. I still feel malpas would not of played him in the centre of midfield with Amankwaah on the wing. Kanyuka and OTJ seem to be the same style of player in the middle of the park, hopefully they won't be on the pitch at the same time.

I've had a little think about it, I'd like to see Easton in nexto OTJ. OTJ is mostly a defensive player so I'd like to see the "old" Easton back, getting into the box and on the end of some crosses like he did in our League Two season.

Title: Re: Timlin suspended
Post by: Bogus Dave on Friday, April 17, 2009, 19:33:35
Easton wasn't with us in league two. I agree with your point though, he was our best player last season, malpas has ruined him

KanyukA is proper crap in defence AND midfield

Title: Re: Timlin suspended
Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Friday, April 17, 2009, 19:50:08
Proper crap? He is a 20 yr old who in his first full season has been in a struggling team. He has probably been no worse than ifil, morrison(first half of the season) and aljofree and no worse than pook peacock and easton

Title: Re: Timlin suspended
Post by: LucienSanchez on Friday, April 17, 2009, 20:11:56
I've never seen him have a half decent game, unlike the others mentioned, that's all!

Title: Re: Timlin suspended
Post by: Batch on Friday, April 17, 2009, 20:15:28
I agree, injury prone garbage thus far. I'd rather keep Ifil.

Kanyuka and Tudor Jones wouldnt work at all, identical players really.

I'd like to see McGovern or Easton given a chance in centre midfield, as long as Nalis doesn't play we should be alright.

Have you got some sort of man love thing going for Razak, Ben? I think you secretly (or perhaps publicly) want to splice your DNA with him.
