Title: Re: returns Post by: Batch on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 13:10:05 Rantat them mentioning things like Sales of Goods Act, Watchdog, writing to your MP/Which? (sunglasses edition) and getting Trading standards on it.
They'll simply fold like a deck of cards. Mwhahahaha. Title: Re: returns Post by: juddie on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 13:39:34 so pissed off. normally I only buy cheap shades cos I always lose them, but the one time I drop a little bit of coin and the fuckers break!
Title: Re: returns Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 13:48:01 If you get to the shop with your receipt asap, you will be able to get a refund. The longer you leave it the more unlikely you'll get a refund or be entitled to one.
The retailer sold the shades on the basis there was a mark on them, which you accepted, but you have not accepted the fact that they were faulty and the arm has fallen off. If they offer a swap take it if you want but you don't have to. You also don't have to accept a credit note. If you want a refund and they refuse to give one, ask to speak to the manager but don't get shitty. Chances are the staff member has not been properly taught about statutory rights and getting shitty won't help. If the manager doesn't budge ask for a number for someone at Head Office. Chances are they won't want to deal with the shit they'll get into and give you the refund. Title: Re: returns Post by: suttonred on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 13:48:36 Ditto, the one time i spent more than a tenner on a pair (£75) they lasted 5 minutes before ending up at the bottom of a Klong in Bangkok, the £10 pair from Boots now 3 years old.
Title: Re: returns Post by: juddie on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 13:56:15 he he. I once bought some fake Raybans in Turkey, I think I was about 18. Literally fell to pieces the moment they went on my head!
My fake tag Heur watch fell off on a dancefloor too. Title: Re: returns Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 14:03:47 Well it doesn't really matter if you get a swap or your money back.
Title: Re: returns Post by: Samdy Gray on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 14:04:07 I've just ordered some fake Ray-Bans off of eBay all the way from Malaysia 8)
Title: Re: returns Post by: juddie on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 14:09:12 you're right. I'll swap. It's just hassle isn;t it, having to go back in and all that.
**big sigh** Title: Re: returns Post by: Bennett on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 16:26:16 I've just ordered some fake Ray-Bans off of eBay all the way from Malaysia 8) didn't you dislike the concept of fakes from ebay recently? :) Title: Re: returns Post by: suttonred on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 16:34:02 I've just ordered some fake Ray-Bans off of eBay all the way from Malaysia 8) If they get here in one peice it will be a miracle, if they do i'll give them a fortnight. Title: Re: returns Post by: swindon_chick on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 16:45:08 Give it a try and take them back as you brought it with that specific problem(scratch) and not with a broken arm.
Title: Re: returns Post by: Samdy Gray on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 16:46:15 didn't you dislike the concept of fakes from ebay recently? :) No no. I disliked the concept of buying what I believed to be the genuine item only to later find it was a fake. Purposefully buying fake goods is a whole different kettle of fish. Title: Re: returns Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 16:46:49 Give it a try and take them back as you brought it with that specific problem(scratch) and not with a broken arm. Yeah that's the point which you've picked up on. You can't return for the defect sold to you but another fault you can :) Alternatively phone customer services about your toppingless pizza for a giggle. Title: Re: returns Post by: pumbaa on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 19:51:48 Quote your statutory rights under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (As Amended), claim the goods are not of merchantable quality and job should be a good 'un. If not, its time to roll out the Watchdog/Small Claims etc.
I seem to be having a ball with the Small Claims Court right now. They're great. Title: Re: returns Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 19:54:41 Bet it's not for a pair of sunglasses though 8)
Title: Re: returns Post by: pumbaa on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 20:01:19 Lord no. Genuine Oakley's all the way for me......
Title: Re: returns Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, 08:07:02 If they get here in one peice it will be a miracle, if they do i'll give them a fortnight. I've had some fake Ray Bans and some fake Police from the far east and they have been brilliant quality... i doubt i'll ever buy genuine sunnies. |
