For me the interesting factor lies with his future at the Galaxy - the MLS could be hit majorly by a potential Beckham departure.

After a decade of good, steady work by the USSF/MLS officials to maintain a decent standard of football in the U.S. only to introduce the marquee player rule and let it potentially blow up in their faces ala NASL would be a disaster for them.

It may sound melodramatic but if Beckham is allowed to walk then it will do a lot of damage. The NASL never recovered from the departure of Pele.

Beckham went there too early and wasn't followed by the likes of Figo and Zidane leaving him the only marketable name.

Not that many care, I don't really either - but it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Anyone else see Uli Hoeness' comments about Beckham's Milan move?

I especially liked the bit where he said 'I run a football club, I dont care if Victoria Beckham has the biggest room in the hotel or not'.

Beckham played for 88 mins before being replaced by Flamini. Game finished 2-2. Vucinic 2 for roma and Pato with both goals for Milan.

I hope so. I used to like Beckham as a player. He really was one of the best.

Then he went to LA Galaxy when he clearly still had a few years left in him, to me it almost seemed like he had sold out and would rather be a 'celebrity' than a footballer.

I'd love to see him go back to being a footballer, at a decent level just to remind everyone why he's one of the best English footballers we've seen for many years.

Without doubt Beckham went to the U.S. too early, and perhaps more importantly wasn't followed by players like Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo or Pavel Nedved. He ended up the only real marketable "marquee" player.

He set up another 2 good chances aswell, one was off-side and the other was selfish play by Kaka who hit the post instead of an easy pass.

His delivery is spot on, much better player than the awful Pirlo who seems to have lost all of his ability.

I was at the game last night and Beckham looked as fit as he ever has been and played Fantastic. He ran all over the park and put in some superb crosses. 2 of which led to goals. AC could of scored a hatful tonight if it was not for some poor finishing.

The Atmosphere was absolutely amazing, the roar of noise that each set of supporters made was something that i have never heard before and the stadium was just over half full at most. It didnt sound like songs that were being sung it was literally a huge roar, its hard to decribe. It started and stopped to perfection, the timing in which they performed was unreal. And of course the usual bonfire in the stands was lit after the first goal which only made the stewards get up lazily and stamp out without causing an onslaught of police in full riot gear invading the crowd. An absolutelf fantastic night out. Im going again i think  :D
