Dirty Diego – Pure coked up genius, worthy of a mention off the back of ‘that’ celebration alone.

Faustino Asprilla – Possibly the laziest and oddest looking footballer before Peter Crouch but fuck he could switch it on in an instant, spin on a thruppence bit and fucking destroy the opposition.

Peter Nddddddddddlllllllllllllurve – Never the greatest but I could sit and watch him play all day.  Had a tremendous style and approach to the game and on his day was deadly.

Sir Bob Moore – No explanation needed

Fat Gazzza – Watching that charade of a broadcast on channel four made me think out of all the players I have seen pull on the England shirt it’s still old Gazzza that conjures up the most magic in my lifetime.  There have been more consistent and arguably more talented but none as exciting to watch as the mental himself.

Five I saw play at a stadium and not on the tele.

01. Hans Gillhaus - Saw him score a hat-trick as a kid. Outstanding.
02. Ruud Gullit - For Chelsea, still showed glimpses.
03. Steve Bull - The guy was a machine!
04. Dennis Bergkamp - Class.
05. Bruce Grobbelaar - Ye old school character.

Three Dutchman, crazy.

Others include Matt Le Tissier, Alan Shearer, Andrei Kanchelskis, Paul McGrath & João Pinto.

Attilio Lombardo was superb at Palace and I remember seeing him a few times at Juventus to boot.

Just had a sniff to see what the old fella is up to and he's gaffer at C1 side Legano now.

My picks had to be players I've seen in the flesh...all against the Town.

Although Milkins I also watched when living in Pompey...a man with so much Brylcream on his head it reflected the floodlights.

Scored the winner, then ran to the touch line and jumped into John Gorman's arms..ah it was sweet...McMahon was never going to get anything out of Joey.

I was in the Town End that day I remember all of those moments. Neil Webb made his debut too.

Webb was a classic example of a really good player hoping and trying to come back from serious injury and just not having it any longer...always a bit sad to see, and we've seen plenty.

Zidane, the greatest footballer of all time, bar none.

And Le Tissier. I maintain to this day that England with Shearer up front as a target man and Le Tissier in a free role, would have been awesome :)

Only went to the Dell once, some toss game v Lincoln in a cup I think, never been to a ground where you're so close to the pitch. That triangular end was a bit odd.

Here comes Reg to prove me wrong about being close to the pitch...............

Standing at Spurs in the old days was strange....you could stand almost below pitch level, your head would be below the players...the game looked totally alien.

Capped for England on more than a couple of occasions I think and I'm pretty sure without scoring ! I remember he missed a golden chance in an important qualifier (V Italy ?) it was a header that he should have scored but then with that hooter weighing him down I suppose he has an excuse. Anyway great for his club but flattered to deceive for England so for me not an all time great !

Are you sure about the tiny nose.  I seem to remember him be serenaded by the southside with

Big nose
He's got a fucking big nose

To the tune of blue moon. Im sure his nose was massive and crooked!

Yes but if The Don had been selected (the best player I've ever seen not to be given an England cap) he would have scored without a doubt. Le Tissier is not worthy to lick The Dons boots !
