Duke packed it in for a little bit though didn't he.

I actually got into fisticuffs over Dukey....he wasnt a great player but the abuse he got was shocking, which involved me losing it.....seem to remember a cracker he scored at Bury.

Good player (no more, no less) playing out of position.

Couldnt tackle, but you cross a ball. Winger, not a bloody full back.

Thing is Tans this guy shouted the same shit every week, very personal abuse and he was sat right behind Dukes family so they could hear everything in detail...so after telling him to sit some ware else cos he was upseting Dukes family he decided to swing at me and missed, fell over and i clipped his ear...lucky really cos i couldve got a 5 year ban or been even luckier and got a life one!

Of course Nicho was a better left back than Duke, mainly because Nicholas is actually a left back.

Duke had his best games on the wing or at a push wing back.

Sammy Igoe was awful on the right wing for ages, every week I wished Kingy would give Duke a go out there. I also think he had the best delivery yet never took the corners.

my two abiding memories of duke are very polarised

the play-off semi-final at home to brighton when he played a blinder in central midfield until he picked up an injury early in the second half

the home game against torquay in his final season where he had a shocker which culminated in him letting akinfatwa get past him to score the equaliser. he was booed, taken off and booed some more

that was that bastard Leon Knight who injured him was it not?

If that little bastard hadnt of injured him, we'd have won the game got promoted and be playing Premiership football by now!!

... Knight's punishment was a eventual downfall to the Conference National.

... Duke's was a transfer to Darlington but going onto become the North Easts "faster texter in the North East" (see Th_nk profile)

But hasn't been playing football for a good while - he didn't join anyone after leaving Darlington.

Look, I've already explained I was wearing the tutu as a favour to a friend who wanted to see what it looked like on, then when the goat came running past, it tripped me so I fell over over onto it and the tutu fell down in the cafuffle ...
