Nope, not a new reality tv show (although I might pitch it to Channel 5).

Let's get some backstory. It's my mum's friend's birthday tomorrow. So instead of making her a big cake, my mum's made her 60 little ones. Well actually she's made 67, or "67 ish I think" is what she said.

Now if I eat too many then I'm going to get in some major trouble. I can't remember how many I've eaten, I think it's 3 or 4 but I wouldn't swear against it being 5. I think I can probably get away with one more at the moment, but then once I've eaten it I'll probably decide I can risk one more. I can't really be arsed to count them as they're all sort of heaped up at the moment. This is a spiral of inevitable doom I don't want to get locked into.

So TEF, how do I cope with this stressful scenario? If any of you have been in a similar scenario then advice would be good.

I think you're good for another 10 or so.  

I wouldn't put it past my mum to arrange them in a nice pattern and then decorating them, so counting isn't out of the question, even if it's in the form of laying them out in a nice pattern where 60 would be obvious.

The Tories quite often get a bit owned when they're questioned on anything other than tabloid style rhetoric. They're still a bit policy light. I suppose there's not much need for any real direction when you can just put the boot in on a struggling labour.

I was faced with a similar dilemma many years ago. As there was no internet in olden times, I got a job.  (I realise this may not be helpful advice in your case Ben)  :)

You're all to late. I found a bottle of red last night and forgot about the cakes. Easy.

I only just woke up so haven't been faced with the cake dilemma yet, but it's breakfast/lunch time so I can have a proper delicious meal which will make me forget about cakes.

Nice that you find my personal life so fascinating JCP. Things aren't always in one extreme or the other.

It's been an interesting year all round, but not one that I think I'll try and repeat next year. In all areas of my life that is.
