Title: Re: For Reg Post by: Ardiles on Thursday, September 18, 2008, 16:10:16 Reading are still known as the Biscuitmen! I don't think a club loses a nickname when a new Chairman comes in.
One of my favourite items of trivia used to be: what is the largest English town or city never to have been represented by a top flight club? Until the start of this season, the answer was Hull. I think the accolade must now have passed to the 'city' [cough] of Milton Keynes. Title: Re: For Reg Post by: Bogus Dave on Thursday, September 18, 2008, 16:11:15 no plymouth
Title: Re: For Reg Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Thursday, September 18, 2008, 16:13:24 OMG Axs I googled it and everything!

Title: Re: For Reg Post by: axs on Thursday, September 18, 2008, 16:16:40 I was trying to make you all think I was brainy! Good luck with that. Title: Re: For Reg Post by: Ardiles on Thursday, September 18, 2008, 16:17:50 A quick look at the map shows Milton Franchise as being quite a bit bigger. Surprised myself when I checked it out. (Yes, I am that sad.)
Title: Re: For Reg Post by: Bogus Dave on Thursday, September 18, 2008, 16:19:10 I'm sure i read somewhere it was plymouth. Unless that was a 'Franchise dont count' opinion
Title: Re: For Reg Post by: Peter Venkman on Thursday, September 18, 2008, 16:27:52 Milton Keynes Town (as they are cos they arent a City despite what they may tell you) has a poplutation of @186,000.
Plymouth the City has a popultion of @246,000 Kingston Upon Hull has a population of @257,000 Swindon in comparison has a population of @155,000 Title: Re: For Reg Post by: Peter Venkman on Thursday, September 18, 2008, 16:37:30 But these are based purely upon population of the City/town itself not the non-metropolitan district, which puts MK a little ahead of the muff.

Title: Re: For Reg Post by: Reg Smeeton on Thursday, September 18, 2008, 18:30:16 That's why you do picture ones. makes it harder. Here's a decent old skool quiz thread....some of the questions, you'd struggle to find on the net. http://thetownend.com/index.php/topic,7173.0.html Good warm up stuff for those competing on the 1st Oct.....the last scorers of 4, 5 , and 6 goals v STFC still unanswered  Title: Re: For Reg Post by: dell boy on Thursday, September 18, 2008, 18:54:32 Going back to The Royals, which football club have always been called The Royals, they were formed before Reading.
Title: Re: For Reg Post by: janaage on Thursday, September 18, 2008, 19:04:37 Here's a decent old skool quiz thread....some of the questions, you'd struggle to find on the net. http://thetownend.com/index.php/topic,7173.0.html Good warm up stuff for those competing on the 1st Oct.....the last scorers of 4, 5 , and 6 goals v STFC still unanswered  I know Steve Foley was awarded 4 against Leicester at the time when we beat them 5-3, I think with hindsight one was given as an own goal post match though. Probably says that on the thread but can't be arsed looking, even though it'd have been easy than typing all of this!
