So you've said about a pc...What about a monitor? Where are they as cheap as chips?

I've heard really good things about the BenQ G2220 HD for a monitor under 150 notes.

I always go for the cheapest monitor I can find of the size I want, that has got good reviews on Amazon (or somewhere similar). Last one I bought was a Hanns-G 19" for under £100 (it was a while ago) and its perfect.

I'm not sure Alba make computer monitors so you might be a bit stuck.

Theres loads of good cheap deals out there, wat is your price range? what do you want to do with it? Do you want an operating system included etc etc

RAM: 4GB
Processor: Quad
OS: Premium
HD: Min 300GB
Monitor: Min 19"
Price: Under £500 (hopefully)

See jayohhaitchenn's post and add a monitor from wherever you desire and it should still be in the sub £500 range.

Don't they build it for you? I thought you specced it up and then they build it to order, perhaps I didn't get the right idea.

If you can build lego you can build a pc, but I can understand why someone wouldn't want to do this. It's definitely far easier than putting together some flat pack furtniture with dodgy instructions, though I must admit I've never had any problems with that too.

A flat screen 19" monitor can cost around £80. That is cheap in my eyes.

Both of these are Quad cores with 1TB HD and 4GB ram. No monitor, but have a look at Misco.co.uk for clearance, i got a 19" viewsonic off there for £70.

Phenom X4
Intel Quad Core
Phenom X3

I actually bought the third one about 6 months ago, but got it for less than that, £250 i think, so don't know whether prices are rising. Also, I was of the understanding that XP, at least 32bit, doesn't recognise more than 2 cores?
