I thought he'd probably retired to concentrate on his PFA role... apparently been injured. maybe sees the Saddlers gig as a way of keeping his hand in, as Gordon Taylor can't go on forever and it's a well paid job.
Downside is that like Taylor as a Trade Unionist, you get your phone hacked by Murdoch minnions.
You can't be the chairman of the PFA if you've retired.

That would stack up with him having a shot at the CEO job then when Taylor goes.

Yep. Deputy to Gordon Taylor. Paul Allen has a decent job within. Think Borrows and Iffy are coaches with the PFA too.

In light of Ruddocks comments, I wonder whether Cole still feels this way.... 'But even in my fury back then, which was also fuelled by frustration at being out of action, I never thought for a moment that Ruddock had maliciously taken me down with the intention of breaking my bones. No professional would do that to another unless there was something awry in their head.'Cole is a very peculiar character.....

He's pretty conflicting in his view of "handshakes". Saying it's fine for him not to shake a refs hand but it wasn't ok for Sheringham not to shake his? Double standards much. Maybe Sheringham had other things on his mind that day and wasn't interested in Cole's debut. In short though, who cares. That a long time to hold a very fucking trivial grudge.

Ruddock should still be prosecuted though.

Assuming its not all been taken out of context and Ruddock was 'only joking'.
