Might be worth a one month contract as cover now that Smith is out injured

Not sure I get the dislike of Evans. I remember him to be better then our current custodians, but what do I know.

I wouldn't rule it out. It would be easy to sign him up on a short term deal for a few months.

I think Evans is exactly the same sort of 'keeper as Smith. A good shot-stopper but very flappy when it comes to crosses.

From what I've witnessed, I agree.

I wouldn't take Evans on because he's become a bit of a goalkeeper-for-hire. Would he compete or will he happily sit on the bench and take a bit of money as he can't find a club?

Rhys Evans left us because he/his agent/both felt that he was too good for League Two football and since 2008 that's the only place he's been and he's failed to hold down a first team place for two seasons.

I'd much rather have a young Premier League/Championship goalkeeper.

Now if it were Steve Mildenhall....thats a different matter.

He'd never come back here.  He's married to someone I know and I was chatting to him at a wedding reception a few months ago.  Doesn't hold Swindon in very high regard and reckons he was treated badly.

Sounds like a load of bollocks to me, why when you think about it logically would he say STFC the 'object', i.e. the fixtures and fittings didn't treat him well and wouldn't want to come back.  As that's what is implied here.  Pretty much everyone involved in the club that's important to Rhys Evans is new since he was last here, the manager, the players, the board...  I've met Rhys once or twice and he seemed a bit more switched on to say such a load of old waffle like that.

No offence fella.

But that's Mildenhall and not Evans.

Ha ha is it?  Same logic applies, makes sense if it's Mildenhall as he's always come across as a complete and utter tosser.

We did treat him a bit shitty didn't we?

Signed him up on a longer contract, sold him a few days later.
