Khan does not have the positional discipline to play the defensive role - he wants to drive and be on the ball.
Khan half the time impresses me and half the time he looks awkward and ill disciplined. The jury is very much still out on him for me. But a DMC he is not.

I was going to suggest that Conway might be worth looking at for a loan but he appears to be very much part of the City first team squad! It just shows how deep the Championship sides squads are with both Swansea and City able to field 2 very good sides in both halves of football.

I had hoped that Cain, Shade, Darcy, Wakeling and Ward would have looked a bit better against such a very young Shitty side.
Unfortunately none have looked good enough so far, even against the U21s, disappointing.

Yep. Tough up front for Wakeling with no service. Shade has done nothing (for us), Cain and Darcy done nothing in midfield. As i said a few posts above, the squad is so short of where it needs to be to push for promotion.

Might be too short for a mid-table push

I dont disagree. Even todays first 11 has some obvious gaps in across defence.
Long way to go still etc, but at the moment i would put us between 12th and 18th for next season. This is based on what we have right now.

Can’t read too much into a pummelling of a load of Bristol City youngsters sprinkled with first team players. 2-1 with strongest XI is a good effort

Even in these meaningless games, it highlights how poor we are defensively. Brewitt was completely without a team for a reason - he’s not good. Even considering him as a backup is generous.

We matched them and competed all over the pitch against their strongest team, we did very well IMO. We can all see, and Flynn can too, that we need 2 (right sided probably) CB's, a LWB and a defensive minded DMC who can tackle and break up play. Hutton and Lavinier can both challenge for the RWB role.
