Hmm, not sure about that. I'd imagine Liverpool very definitely expected him to achieve against the targets he was set, just that the "results" would be in terms of players coming through into the first team group, rather than in individual matches. Certainly much more high profile public pressure as a first team manager though
Yes I mean the pressure to get results in the league where huge amounts of money can be gained and lost with 1 poor season, look at Luke Williams in his season with us. The relegation season according to Power cost us about £3m in revenue.
That is enough to cripple a club in our division for several years.
If at Liverpool he failed to bring through 1 or 2 prospects to being close to the first team then his job would not be on the line, also at Liverpool he has the cushion of the rest of the coaching staff to use and have their thoughts. I doubt that cirlce will be as big at Blackpool as it was at Liverpool with their wealth of experience in backroom staff.

Yes I know they are only at the end of a phone if he needs their advice but they are not at training sessions watching players or at games seeing how the players perform which the staff at Liverpool would be if needed.
I am sure hes a great youth coach/manager but its a massive step up from Premier league U23 football to managing league clubs, I would think the list of failures far far outweighs the successes, just look at Swindon....Luke Williams, Kevin macDonald and Maurice malpas (yes he had 1 year at Motherwell but was essentially an U21 coach) then you look at others like Dermot Drummy, who had great careers coaching youngsters but struggled with the pressures of league management.
I still think the pressure of managing Blackpool will be way more than managing Liverpool U23s.
Massive learning curve for him and a culture shock too, still it may well work for him, fair play to Blackpool for taking the gamble and not just going for a tried and tested "jobbing" manager like Robinson.
