Iffy speaks:

"It just wasn't working.  The production company wanted more access than we were able to give."

The agreement was ended due to "irreconcilable differences".

"It was my decision."

Iffy's relationship with Big Ron was "contrived" and on Ron's part "for the cameras".  He said he "did not know him any more after the end of filming than at the start".

The contract was supposedly worth £100,000 between the film company and STFC, but this was never signed and no assurances were given.

The film company are going to try something with another club, possibly Peterborough.

You should be able to download the whole interview from bbc.co.uk as part of the Sportsweek mp3 download (when it's ready).

Shame as we needed the money - but Iffy needs to be allowed to do his job and keep us up, with no interruptions...

I'm sure survival is worth more than 100k

Shame about the money/it not working it. But football comes first, end of.

Good interview Iffy.

Good summary.
Sounded to me like Iffy thought the filming of him and Ron talking on the way to/at the Swansea game on Friday night was contrived situations ... done for the camera rather than the camera just following natural events.

Think this is it....I listened to it in Real Player, so could  set it about 38 mins in where the bit is.

Sounds like a sensible decision by Iffy, if it isn't working, then there's little point continuing, particularly as no contract had been signed. I'm a little disappointed, as i would have loved to see what the players and staff are like behind the scenes, but as some of you have said, our fight against relegation should come first

iffy comes across as such an intelligent, articulate bloke. compare him to the likes of king and mcmahon who were thick, ignorant twats and it makes me realise how lucky we are to have iffy. i think he's going to be a really top manager and will one day be in the prem

Cheers Reggie!

Veru interesting.  I agree with Boeta.  It makes a nice change to have a 'gaffer' who can string a few sentences together. Can you imagine King using the term 'irreconcilable differences'?Huh??

The money could of been useful but Iffy has made a decision and I respect him for that. He is a intelligent man and I'm sure he has made the right decision. Tbh I was never that keen on the whole thing to get big ron involved. Yeh it would of been great to see the behind the scenes events at your club but It all seemed very false.
Its not like we are at a low point away, we are now crawling back up the table and everyones confidence is high. More important things to worry about now.

You have to say fair play to the club as well for going along with Iffy on it - they could have over-ruled him for the sake of the dosh, but have decided to back him (although it sounds like the contract with the TV co wasn't fully sorted) yet. Fair play.
