I think one big regret of this season could be not playing to the little man's strengths.

I agree DB.
Rightly or wrongly all focus has been centred upon playing to Fallon's strengths. This is fine if he is banging in more than a goal a game.
However, it states the bleeding obious that a club at the bottom of the table has a scorer on the leagues top scorer list. This only means that no other fucker is scoring.
Also, how many times has Fallon scored more than one goal in a game ?
Not many ! if never this season.
And we wonder why we cant turn drawers into wins !

Fallon has scored twice once.....which is still more than Jamie Cureton
I dont buy all this play to his strengths shit, we play hoof ball....I am sure Iffy doesnt ask them to play hoof ball. Im sure we dont practise hoof ball on the training pitch, but we play this way because our players panic and simply arent good enouged or controlled enough to play free flowing passing and movment football.

if we dropped Fallon do you think we would stop hoof ball? When he was suspended and we played Cureton & Thorpe upfront did we stop playing hoof ball

I don't think we will ever stop playing hoof ball, desperation has set in. I don't think we are capable of not playing hoofball. We play the beautiful game in patches, but very far and few between I think Iffy is going for the big and powerful approach. It works for Brentford, always look crap, always there or abouts in the playoffs. If it works and keeps us up I'll be happy.

The reason our defence hoofs ii has always been because they dont get enough protection from the midfield. They are under constant pressure at time, and so kick the fucker anywhere to get a breather.

Thats not *always* true though, plenty of times Ifil had had an easy pass yet still hoofed it. We play that style because we can, not because we have a big striker....we cant play any other way.

No not always, but it's a habit they have gotten stuck with.
As people keep saying, Iffy might not tell them to play hoof-ball, but he should fucking well stop them from the sidelines. I don't see him ever complaining about our style of play.

We should be playing players that fit with out style, not changing our style to fit the players we have. You cant ask footballers to do things they arent capable of...

Coinsidence, I think not. Anyway, when start winning and are safe we can play "total football" until our hearts content. Oh.
