I was in Swindon today so I popped into Vodafone to check out what phones are about as I desperately want to get rid of this shitty E710. Nothing really caught my eye except the Sony Ericsson V800 and the Sharp 902. Does anybody have a 3G phone and if so is it any good? What's the network coverage like? Does it have any features that are useful over most phones? Secondly, do I have any chance of getting the phone for nowt? Cheapest I could get the V800 is £170 on 3G and about the same if I went for Anytime 200 (I believe). It'd cost me a fucking bomb to upgrade with my current contract.

I don't really want another flip phone because they're gay, but these 3G ones seem lush.

Network coverage with a vodafone 3g phone is the same as a normal vodafone phone (IE 99% UK coverage). 3g coverage is currently at 60% outdoor coverage soon to be increased to 70%.
The sharp is awesome. Well nice camera.

how long have you had your e710 for? You wont get it for nothing unless your bills are really high. The Sharp is £170 on a new contract. You can do buy now pay later if you want.

I'm just approaching the ten month mark for my e710. I don't want to fork out for a new phone to be honest. Can I get the 6610i on contract?

I had a 6610 and it's the best phone I've ever had. Looking at the 6600 atm, that's free.

Sonic youth Why don't you get one of these. They are very fashionable, the camera quality is one of the best i've ever seen, you can download shed loads of mp3s and it comes with free accessories, car kit etc and you can go on Anytime 200 with 50 inclusive texts for £15 per month for 9 months! http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/handsetsearch.aspx?searchType=2052&phoneDesc=Nokia_6230&ID=1

If you want a 3g phone you'll have to pay so choose something else. they arent that exciting anyway really.
Although saying that you can get some decent 3g tariffs with free footy clips (not swindon though)
if they wont offer you the phone you want call 191 and go through to the disconections dept. Say orange have offered it to you for free and they probably will go for it.
decent affordable phones out at the mo are:
sharp gx25 sharp gx30 samsung d500 nokia 6230 sony eric s700i

The day of my 10th month is next Monday, spoke to some bloke with a cool beard today who gave me some quotes for next week.
3G doesn't even reach my backwards part of the world, I'd have to drive 10 miles to make a phone call so fuck that. Gonna have a look at the ones you listed, cheers Jimbo.

You'd still be able to make normal calls just not video calls. I wouldnt bother with it yet either.

ah right, then not much point in forking out for a phone that expensive if the novelty doesn't work.
I like the D500, S700i and 6320. I'll wailt until next week and phone 'em up or something.
