The Trust, Loud and Proud and the Supporters' Club (and a good few TEF'ers) have joined together to form a campaign to lobby councillors etc re the ground development. The campaign specifically is looking to act as a wake-up call to councillors and the general public as to the realities of what they stand to lose if they lose the club through sheer indifference.

Rather than just writing out the full launch PR in full, you can read it on the Trust site:
http://www.truststfc.co.uk/news_item.php?id=653

And there's a campaign website at:
http://www.keeptowninswindon.org.uk/ which has a copy of the leaflet we'll be hitting Xmas shoppers with (erm, not literally hitting them, obviously) and a PDF of the postcards which will be being handed out at the ground on Saturday to lobby your councillors with.

And hopefully tonight, that will be joined by sample letters/emails people can send to their local councillor/MP and posters to print out and put in your window.

We've had enough c**p and waffle from the powers that be on the ground redevelopment - let's get active and start making our voices heard.

Good work Paul et al.  This kind of action is worthwhile and I would say more likely to bring results than other means. A well oraganised and clearly explained group seems good.  The website put the basics across well too.

Great stuff and nice to see all concerned parties pulling in the same direction.

Paul, I suggest getting in touch with “Forest not Football” campaigner Johnny Doyle.

He’s a member on the Trust site and for those that didn’t know was a key figure in getting Shaw halted.  He’s also a Town fan and I’m pretty certain he was 100% for a County Ground re-development as an alternative.

Could prove to be a useful crusader of the cause with his experience.

I think he was joking too, unless you are joking back in which case he may know that you know he's joking. Of course you will already know that he knows that you know that  Wink

He just said he was a town fan to make his arguement seem better. If he was a town fan it was only in as much as he looked out for the results certainly no more than that.

Well we're going to be trying to get people to sign postcards to send to their councillors (we'll even drop them off for them) on Saturday so any help with that would be much appreciated. Either help out at the ground or pick a bunch up in advance and take them to the pub with you, then drop them into us when they're done.

Oh, and if people fancy making Keep Town in Swindon banners for Saturday that would be cool, too. Erm, if you're using bedsheets wash 'em first - there's nothing worse than unveiling a banner and people asking about "that funny punctuation mark" <yuk>

Huh, I expected to be a millionaire by now with a string of trophy girlfriends. Learning to deal with disappointed expectations is all part of life's rich tapestry - it'll be good for him
