Disagree with you there, Lennon wasn't the best.  Much prefer the work of Paul McCartney during the Beatles era.  Found Lennon a little arrogant.  If McCartney had been the one shot we'd have been praising him to high heaven for the last 25 years.

Possibly true,as it would have spared us 'The frog chorus' thing Paul did Wink Has to be said they were one of the greatest songwriting partnerships ever. Both with different ideas and feelings but strangely able to work together and write great songs.
Of course Lennon was arrogant ,he was a Beatle he could have and do almost anything he wanted,it would make anyone a bit big headed. Wink

The girl thats driving me mad is going away,
She's got a ticket to ride, she's got a ticket to ride, she's got a ticket to ride
And she don't care.

Because arguing's cool!!  Let's off a bit of steam.

Zig and Zag were potentially the greatest anyway.

Not a fan myself, but indeed an anniversary worth marking.  Best partnerships or songwriters are entirely opinion.  The best songwriter to me is the perosn who writes my favourite songs obviously, not some guys who worte loads of songs that were massivley popular 40 years ago,n but that I don't really care for.
