Not sure if you realise this but "George Best" is an anagram for "Best George" and I think that's kinda apt.

That's pretty deep for this time of day eh?

once a skag head, always a skag head. Thats what my great uncle bulgaria used to say.

If I were to offer you a sexy hyperdermic full of creamy heroin would you turn it down? I wouldnt.

As long as no gays had touched it, wouldnt want to catch teh gay
that would explain your narrow mindedness then wouldnt it..i live in park south still managed to stay off it,,and if you were to offer it to me you would be likely to recieve a nice creamy headbutt Cheesy

well done for beating the addiction.i was into the rave scene in the early 90's and dabbled with every chemical under the sun.a few of my mates went on to become heroin addicts.4 of them died because of that shit, luckily the rest got clean like you.anyone that makes jokes ect about it dont know shit.

He made the choice to live the way he did, it was his decision to hit the bottle again. At least he lived his life to the full , he blew his second chance and now has to pay the piper. I cant sit in judgement because i cant say that i wouldnt have done the same thing, it cant be easy being an addict. I feel sorry for his family and friends who have had  to watch him waste way these past weeks. He wasnt a bad person just some one who couldnt control his addiction.

I never saw Stanley Matthews play, but I saw George Best play.  Both had  genius.  I hope a sample of his goals are shown on national television.  George could do everything, he could win the ball, head it, pass it, skin defenders, shoot with power, lob, cross, and make it look easy.  Matt Busby's strategy was simple give the ball to Best.  Possibly, it was all too easy for him.  He played in an era when the game was tougher and more physical, how would he be stopped today.  If he were twenty today, Chelsea would not be able to afford him.

His life ended in tragedy, but don't take anything away from the most naturally talented player ever to play in the British Iles.  I am proud to say I have witnessed George Best play football, a player who admired another great winger, Don Rogers.

When Fulham played Swindon in an FA Cup 3rd round replay on January 11th 1977 at the County Ground, Rodney Marsh, Bobby Moore and George Best were in the Fulham team.

23,883 turned up to watch that match. I'm sure lots of them did to get tickets for the 4th round home tie against Everton (24,437), but I would think a lot did just to get to see Best play, that was the pulling power of the player.

Did anyone on here see that match, or know much about it. Reg, I guess you would have seen it/remember it?

it can't be nice for his family to have to put up with all the media attention, they might as well stick him on a trolley in the centre of london such is the way his untimely death is being played out in the public eye.

let the man die with dignity and respect, self-inflicted or not that's the least he deserves.

I remember being there,we stuffed 'em for 5(Beanpole Dave Syrett scored 2 as did Mossy)but I will always remember it as the time I saw Besty for the first (and only)time play live,he was still supremely talented.
