I hope he dies so the media can stop trying to make me feel sorry for a man who's pain and suffering is entirley self inflicted.

Just because it's self inflicted doesn't mean we shouldn't feel sorry for him. Imagine if you were taken to hospital after chopping your hand off in the lawnmower would you expect the doctor to send you home to bleed to death because it was your own fault?

of course not, but thats not really a parrellel is it? the Doctors are still treating him.

If I'd cut off my own hand with a lawnmover I'd expect a certain degree of sympathy from friends and family but deep down I'd know that it had happened because I'd been a twat.

To honest I really don't give a fuck, and really couldn't feel sorry for him. There are far more people, far worse off, and far more important news stories to be commentating on.

And as said its self-inflicted. If he survives he should be jailed for attempted suicide, because continueing to drink against doctors advice after a liver transplant isn't exactly looking after yourself is it?

What saddens me is that somewhere, someone died because Best nicked their liver transplant. And he was hardly grateful for it was he?

If one of your family members abused alcohol/drugs would you feel the same? I know it's a waste of a liver and yes he should have gone t-total but decades of addiction was obviously too much. I agree that it shouldn't be in the news every five minutes, but I think too many people aren't picking the grey from the black and the white.
